The outlet store Boundary Outlet Colne in the Yorkshire Dales is a great place to shop for high-street fashion, homeware and electronic brands. The store has a lot of space to walk around, good cafes nearby and excellent selection of clothing at reasonably priced. It's well worth a visit!

Terrific store! Lots of choice. We visited the cafe for a drink and were tempted by the cakes! Good old fashioned vanilla slices. Yum.The aisles in the shop were wide and bright.Covid-wise it felt very safe. Lots of mask wearers.

This is my first time visiting the place and it won't be the last, I loved the place and I finned many beautiful things. Also the cafe so nice, the food was delicious and service was so nice, the staff were very lovely and so kind. ☺️

Noura E — Google review

Great place to visit if you are into Outlet Centres.Great choice of clothing and footwear downstairs and an even greater choice of soft furnishings, lighting kitchen utensils, bedding and crockery etc upstairs.Never used the cafe but looked busy. Toilets spotless. All staff friendly. Free parking just off the motorway. All round Great place to spend a couple of hours.

Spent Saturday afternoon here with my mother and enjoyed the shopping experience tremendously! I haven’t visited for decades so was surprised how huge the store is and how well run & organised it is. We visited the café on the 1st floor for a light lunch on arrival and visited again a couple of hours later for a coffee to keep us going! The staff are really helpful & friendly & the store has everything you ever need under one roof. It was a perfect day out for my elderly mother & she was able to buy good value greeting cards, Christmas presents, gifts etc. It’s like a 5star department store but far better! We are already planning our next visit before Christmas & I only wish you would open a branch in the south of England so I could visit more regularly!

Jan S — Google review

Big department outlet store, some nice savings, but not cheap overall. From clothes to kitchen, a little bit of everything can be found.Breakfast at the hive was nice but not outstanding.

First time visited new store. Plenty of space to walk around. Good cafes. Excellent selection of clothing. Reasonably priced. Well worth a visit

Susan B — Google review

Very bright and modern since its massive refurbishment. The Hive Cafe, see photo, on the ground floor, where the Italian Restaurant used to be, is lovely and bright but I was disappointed with the food and it was a tad expensive for what you get. I choose a hummus and roasted vegetable open sandwiche, which was £9.50 and quite a small piece of bread, only a small smear of hummus and vegetables chopped up very small, I'm unsure if they were roasted or not, I couldn't tell. See photo. I was still hungry. My mother in law had a toasted cibatta which was more substantial but more expensive. The total bill came to around £25 for 2 sandwiches and 2 orange juices. 😳In the clothes department there were some old favourites ie. Jaeger, Roman, Radley etc. But a lot of new one's as well. A good range and plenty of selection but you need to be prepared to hunt if you're after something specific. There were lots of staff milling around willing to assist and it was fairly quiet when we went on Friday afternoon. The car park was 1/4 full.Upstairs hasn't changed much, the cafe had been extended, M & S is still there, but it feels like they're selling sale stock that they can't move. A large bedding section, cook wear, crockery, suitcases, as well as Tripp suitcases in the entrance as you walk in, cards etc. There's also a large cosmetics store and a perfume shop in the entrance as you enter. There's also a separate Sketchers shoe section if you like them, typically priced around £45 per pair. What I particularly like about Boundary Mill is that I always find quirky items that I don't usually see on the high street, such as the boots (£44) I bought in the attached photo.

Jan R — Google review

Better than I thought it would be. Plenty of parking in a well planned car park. Nice and spacious inside. Lots of mini departments with a wide variety of goods. Even though on my visit there were quite a few people visiting it didn't feel over crowded. I think if you look there are quite a few bargains to be had.

Lee P — Google review

A really good centre to shop in with every possible item available, ranging from clothes to shoes to all sorts of hardware. A very nice cafe is available for drinks and food.Car park is really large and so does not present a problem.

Geoffrey W — Google review

Perfect for a local trip for great deals on designer clothes/ bags make up etc . Saves me travelling to Trafford centre at times . Always nice and tidy and good facilities for children and a lot of different food options available

Shaz K — Google review

It's ideal if you are over 50 and wish to find some new clothes. Upstairs provides some interesting kitchen wares but not cheap but are good quality. There's a large cafe with great staff and cheap average tasting food

Michael C — Google review

So many choices of clothes with brands to suit many, bedding, towels, homeware with 3 different places to eat. Lots and lots of free parking. In recent years the floor area has been set out much better and in a more uniformed manner.

Jane S — Google review

Doesn't cater for persons of non standard sizes. Massive shoe section with 1 shelf of size 12's.Very few items over XXL so discriminate over fatties.Homeware, bedding, nonfood good selection. Tills at wrong end of store.

Mark M — Google review

We've got to travel to Boundary Outlet at Colne..It's just a terrific atmosphere and a place to be. Most things you need and a great choice all in one building. Staff are very helpful and polite. Café, Restaurant/s, plus a Chippy at the other end of the car park (free). The food's tasty too.

I S — Google review

Very very busy for a week day and very little signal in the place so if you lose your family members easily pick a rendezvous point as you won’t find them as the place is huge. The lack of signal in the building and no public wifi that I could see meant that I spent more time hunting down my family than actually shopping.

Cat D — Google review

This is my idea of shopping hell. I had to buy some emergency clothes while on holiday and was directed here. A huge indoor shopping mall that I visited on a hot day. It was hard to find clothes that I liked in natural fabrics. The staff were pleasant, but I asked one if there was a cafe inside for a cold drink and she directed me to an ice-cream stand outside. There weren't many customers for a Saturday morning, so I think this sort of shopping has maybe had its day.

Amanda H — Google review

Just a great place to go, absolutely fabulous for kitchen utensils, pans plates etc as well as bedding. Bargains to be found in men's wear and ladies wear. Not to mention shoes and bags. Also a couple of nice "restaurants " for lunch. Great day out!!

Amanda M — Google review

Good to visit, 10% discount. Greeted by friendly staff on entering. Lovely open spaces and light. Clothes well layed out, good choices but limited sizes sometimes. Too many top designer brands for me personally, still expensive. Good M&S outlet but all self service checkouts 😔 luckily helpful staff, limited sizes again and in shoe dept.Brilliant cafe, good choices, light and airy. All in all a really lovely shopping outlet, very friendly staff 😊 👏 👏

Chris F — Google review

Absolutely LOVE this outlet! 😀Lovely large light and airy building set out more like a department store FULL of wonderful stock at reduced prices. The café/restaurant offers many choices where you can punctuate your hours of shopping! 😁I could happily while away a whole day here and still want to go back for more, if funds allowed!Set in a beautiful spot in Lancashire, a visit would certainly NOT disappoint, and the people are so friendly and staff very helpful.I can hardly wait for my next visit! 😊

Rose B — Google review

Shopping centre mainly for clothes and shoes. There are some excellent brands on sale here at discounted prices. Parking is plentiful and free. There is a restaurant and a cafe here. The store is quite large over two floors and I would say needs at least four hours to get around everything. If you’re going to a wedding it’s perfect to grab everything that you need in a single visit.

Andrew D — Google review

Prefer visiting here Sunday. Friendly staff, good variety and more importantly, you won’t get trouble to find parking here.

Camron C — Google review

Bought a few items, relatively reasonably priced however it's the going rate at what you would buy online for. Went to the cafe upstairs. Not much option for my child who has a milk allergy woman serving hot food not knowledgeable about the food she is serving, she didn't know cheese had milk in! Perhaps some basic allergy training would be beneficial, it was very expensive for what we got. Will avoid mealtimes if we visit again

Lisa S — Google review

Plenty parking places and toilets .It is a lovely cafe with many selections of choices .sell lots of items from clothing . Household products . Many other items. Would recommend downloading the app for the store for discounts, which we had 10% of our bill the other day .lift also if have difficulty in climbing the stairs as there is 2 floors . Would recommend a visit .

Pauline C — Google review

I always love going to boundary mill. It's indoors, has lots of sections to walk through including kitchen, homeware, bedding, shoes, outdoors and gifts. Love the M&S outlet and the cosmetics store. Perfect for everyone. They have so many eatery options as well. Definitely worth going if you want something special at a cheaper price.

Deb M — Google review

It's pretty big so unless you're going to one specific part for one item... prepare for a few hours of wandering around with things catching your eye.Not everything is the best price possible, but then surely we know this by now. There are two cafes on site plus there's an eatery just at the other end of the car park...all are very nice and reasonably priced. All in all it's not a bad day out if shopping is your thing, definitely better than one other Boundary Mill I've been to

Janet A — Google review

Me & my family had a day out in Haworth this was a great stop off on the way home ! Time for a bit of shopping an amazing cafe up stairs with a massive outside balcony! The food & coffee & cakes good ! Staff are very helpful! In this store something for everyone women men kid’s teenagers! Top brands for good prices ! Books , kitchen stuff make up stores , perfumes & aftershave stores discounted prices ! Toilets are amazing ! Carpark is fantastic !

Library

The Harris Museum, Art Gallery and Library is a Grade listed museum and art gallery with impressive collections of decorative art, costume, textiles and local history. The collection includes a skeleton of a 13,500 year old elk.

Brilliant museum and art gallery in Preston that's free to visit. It's got a great range of exhibits and a lovely cafe and shop. Nice to see the display of the great Tom Finney and the beautiful Caribbean exhibition. The interior decoration of the building is stunning in it's own right.

John B — Google review

Love the Rocks and Pillars cemented with rich history and heritage. Unfortunately could not go in as its still temporarily closed. Hope to get in soon ....

Robert C — Google review

Modest compared to many of the museums you might find in, say, Liverpool, but the crown jewel of Preston none the less. I don't live in Preston anymore and this is one of the places I miss the most. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and are happy to talk to you in detail about the art, the cafe is reasonably priced and has the most beautiful surroundings and the toilets are well maintained, if not the easiest to access. There's something for everyone here. Fine art, ceramics, textiles and local history all have their own large, dedicated rooms, plus there's a regular rotation of special exhibits. These are often more modern but not necessarily always, and might showcase amateur or student art, the work of a single professional artist, comic book art, prehistory, sculpture etc etc...Basically, despite the size of the building, you could spend hours here! Although I personally preferred to make regular, short visits, to drink up the atmosphere and gaze once again at my favourite works.

McPhersonator — Google review

Very interesting and diverse collection of exhibitions, always changing. Excellent place for adults and children alike. The Harris Museum also houses Preston public library. There is also a cafe and gift shop.

Paul S — Google review

Beautiful small museum at heart of Preston. Entry is free and the staff is enthusiastic and sincere. The collection is well curated and displayed. The atmosphere exudes enthusiasm. Never seen such a small museum punching above its weight. Must visit to know the spirit of Preston

Abhijit D — Google review

Since 2021/22 it closed and shut down. I lived in Preston for a while but I never got a chance to go in. No one knows why it never opens no I feel it's not good.

A K — Google review

I love being here. It is my favourite place in Preston. It's quiet, quaint, but airy. The displays and exhibitions catch the local taste. I would highly recommend going here if you are in Preston area and haven't already done so.

Daniel M — Google review

I found it fascinating, just enough history to keep you entertained without getting bored and the added bonus of an art gallery with some incredible paintings. The building is impressive also. Didn't visit the library part or the cafe so can't comment on those parts. Would visit again if I'm ever in Preston again.

Recently did an internship here and I cannot recommend it more. The staff are just as welcoming and friendly as they seem (which seems to be rare) and they will always accommodate you, help you in anyway way and truly care about the place. The exhibitions and artefacts that are on display are also fascinating and well looked after.

Moon exhibition was fun but there was a model rocket right behind a child's play room. So to get in you had to queue behind kids getting into the playroom.Even though I only wanted to take photos of the docket and read the info plus It was weird placement to walk through child's playroom just to read plaques.

Hiking Trails

The Ingleton Waterfalls Trail is a short but beautiful hiking trail that takes you to six waterfalls, a gorge and a glen in the Yorkshire Dales. The trail is well-marked and easy to follow, and it offers some of the most spectacular waterfall and woodland scenery in the North of England.

Went here yesterday and absolutely loved the place! First stopped by for lunch at The Falls, then started the walking trail. Paid £8 entrance fee(adult)£4 for children, and free for 🐶. Parking is free on site. The trail is a circular route. 4.5 miles in total, and takes about 2.5-3 hours to complete. Took us a bit longer to stop by for ice cream, coffee and few minutes to rest and enjoy the beauty of the place. There’s food van near the first big falls(that only takes cash). Then there’s an ice cream van in the middle(takes cards), then there’s clean toilets on the refreshment centre(also takes cards). Make sure you have proper walking shoes as some parts of the trail are steep and slippery. It was busy when we went there yesterday. Can only imagine it getting busier later in summer. But overall,we had a great experience and it’s a beautiful place to explore.❤️

Czar N — Google review

If my kids hadn't have moaned about being outside this would have been the perfect day! Such a beautiful place to visit...the spring water and lemon drink at the Little tuck shop on the way up was a perfect refreshment in the heat!We did the walk in 3hrs with a couple of stop offs for a drink and ice cream and few paddles in the water.... I'd definitely visit here again it was beautiful

Jenn B — Google review

Beautiful sights along the walk. Railings provide comfort and support at the sketchy bits. £10/person is fairly expensive but the area is well maintained and clean. Decent trade off there. Walk is not easy, but plenty of areas to rest. The reward is the falls which are amazing. A lovely day out.

Chris U — Google review

Absolutely amazing. This is easy to moderate walk. Beautiful 4 hours all around. We really enjoyed. We had a 5 years old with us and he did it with no problem obviously with rest in between. The scenery along the route is stunning. I don't understand people complain about the £10 charge. This route is highly maintained with concrete stars wooden bridges along the route and fencing as well. To maintain this route cost money as well as the free parking area. If you are around the Lake District do not miss this route. Make sure you bring with you some snacks and comfortable hiking shoes which are water resistant and with good grape for slippery area around the route.

Eran — Google review

This is one of the best enclosed walking trails I have experienced in the UK, absolutely worth the entry fee and then some. You not only get the sights of the falls along the first part of the trail but when you reach the largest fall and climb the final few steps to the top of the valley you’re further rewarded with a commanding view of the surrounding landscape. Finally you can descend into the village for a pub lunch Highly recommended to any in the area.

Conor S — Google review

Fantastic experience and some stunning views. But, the distance is 5.81 miles. You will need good walking shoes and carry water with you. If it's very hot it's not for the very elderly or anyone a bit infirm. Having said that we did very much enjoy the walk round.

Marki A — Google review

Fabulous! An £8 admission charge but worth every penny. We did the walk in around four hours but that included stopping off to admire the views and having lunch at the cafe half way round. We did think the cafe was a little expensive though. Toilets adjacent to the cafe were ideal on a walk of that length.

Gary B — Google review

Just beautiful, 4.5 miles but well worth it. Fall are great this time of year but it also means very wet and can be slippy underfoot. Took us between 2.5 to 3 hrs to complete but we were in no rush and stopped to take many pictures, also stopped for coffee and flapjack at Breezy hill cafe which was lovely

Kim M — Google review

We headed over to meet friends and decided to do the walk around the falls. Parking is free but £10 per person to do the 4.5 mile trail. The scenery is breathtaking but be prepared to climb a lot of steps. Good footwear is a must as the ground does get quite uneven. There is a little food hut half way round and the fresh lemon drink is a must. At the top of the falls there is an ice cream van and by time you get here a well deserved ice cream is on the cards. The weather was beautiful so don't forget the sun cream. We had a lovely day and would highly recommend this place.

Luke R — Google review

Beautiful place, grat day out! Trail is well looked after ( entry fee £10 adult, £5 kids), signs, clean. Kids( 4 and 6 with me)and dog ( big dog) can manage the whole trail. Car Park available, included in price and toilets in places ( beginning, middle then end). We visited on 19th of Feb and it wasn't raining ( lucky us whoop whoo ) and it was still lovely. Village itself is so charming and has lots of places to eat. Give it a go!

Marta R — Google review

A beautiful walk I've done many times. Charge is now per person not per car so a big hit for families 😞.£10 adult £5 a child.I should imagine the upkeep of the paths would be expensive. Still a lovely walk.

Julian B — Google review

Always park your car in the car park included in entrance fee, I made a mistake parking in the community car park down the road.,which isn't free .Great walk around the falls the map didn't make much sense, the walk isn't for the faint hearted all depending on your fitness. Loads of steps and slippery slate so good foot wear needed. Took myself nearly 4 hrs taking it steady have fun worth a visit. I was thinking £10 is a lot of a fee but seeing how big the grounds are and bridges across the waterfalls all cost money so yes it's worth it.

Chris C — Google review

This waterfall trail is so worth a go at £8.00 per adult entry we felt after doing the walk that this price is very reasonable taking onto account the upkeep of paths, steps, rails ,toilets ect.. and have paid a lot more for at lot less at other places. We visited when the falls were in flood and they were very impressive and powerful a sight to see. I would say wellies or walking boots are needed especially in autumn/winter months .This walk is not what I would call an easy stroll with a lot of steps both up and down but is worth it and would recommend it if in the area .

Lisa S — Google review

A beautiful 4.5 to 5 mile walk around some stunning waterfalls and scenic surroundings, simply breathtaking. It took us about 3 hours to complete the walk. The car park had plenty of parking spaces and toilets all which were well maintained. Entrance is £8 for adults and under 16s £4 and that includes the car park. It's well worth the visit. If you love walking then your sure to love this waterfall walk. We had a beautiful dry day with temperatures of 18° even at the end of October and while we walked we were very hot. Be sure to wear the right footwear, walking boots which a are waterproof are ideal. About half way round there is an ice cream van and toilets with a coffee shop selling amazing hot drinks, snacks and ice cream. We will hopefully be doing this one again soon.

Yazz — Google review

Excellent family walk! I clocked it at 7.4km and it takes about 2h 30m. Lots to see to keep it interesting, there’s lots of steps so no push chairs or wheelchair access or unfortunately. There’s ice cream and refreshment stops along the way which is perfect for kids. One only takes cash (first one) the others take card payment. It’s £10 per adult and £5 for kids. I think it’s worth it as it is well kept! A really nice morning out

Gareth R — Google review

Fabulous place. Loads to see. It is a LONG walk though and one way only, so be ready for a 2 hour minimum walk really. 3 hours if you're taking your time and stopping in places. Really enjoyable though for both adults and kids. There is a refreshments cabin just after Pecca falls and an ice cream van after you cross the river at the top of the map. There's also a bacon butty shop and toilets before you rejoin the other river.

Jason F — Google review

Great day out to look at the waterfalls. Arrive early and take your time as it is quite up and down with loads of steps. The ice cream van halfway round, and the cafe on the back stretch was more than welcome by the time we got to them. Would be nice if there were more benches to stop and admire the views and rest those weary legs.

Rob B — Google review

Absolutely remarkable place! Really stunning views. Entry is £10 per adult but it’s essentially a full day out (we were walking for 3-4 hours but you can stay as long as you like)

Grace M — Google review

Lovely walk with beautiful scenery, we were lucky with the weather. Entry is £10 per person but includes parking, a little expensive but the trail is well maintained. Would definitely recommend walking proper walking shoes/boots as ground in places uneven and a little slippy.Would also need some level of fitness as there are ALOT of steps up and down. Would also recommend going early as the trail is one way and quite narrow so can get busy.Nice place to stop by waterfall for a picnic and there is also a van selling food, drinks but is CASH only. There are also toilets about half way round.Walk brings you out into Ingleton town which looked nice with lots of places for food & drink.

Michelle M — Google review

Absolutely loved this place. What a wonderful way to connect with the nature. The sound of the waterfall, the lovely and scenic pathway and iconic bridges made it a beautiful journey. Highly recommended. Do wear all your gears and appropriate clothing to enjoy the trail. If you have any injuries, walking sticks are highly recommended. Enjoy the walk.

Jyoti D — Google review

Cannot recommend this enoughBetter to go early, plenty of parking available.Ticket is 10 pound per adult and 5 per child. However the trail is well maintained with railings to hold while walking on slippery trails. The path is around 4 point some miles and there’s lots of areas to rest. There’s also two places where snacks and hot drinks are served in case you get hungry. You are given a map and can see six waterfalls that are guided. Also saw many people bringing their dogs who enjoyed the walk.I think this is the first hike I felt safe in due to the accessibility!Enjoyed it a lot

Aromal N — Google review

Love it here, it's the second time we've been, first I was 7 months pregnant and to be fair it wasn't all that bad of a walk, this time my little boy is 4 and loved it! The waterfalls are lovely, the whole walk took us about 3 hours but that was with a nice stop. Really recommend it for a day out, the kids can paddle in the pools we walked across the slippy stones to the other side of the stream, very scenic day out.

B H — Google review

I'm not an avid hiker myself, but my sister and I definitely enjoyed the trail. The waterfalls and the surrounding woodland are absolutely magical. There are also a bunch of sheep here and there. We didn't't see any other animals unfortunately... We knew it would start raining anytime, so we couldn't just take our time and made it really fast on the way up; it took us roughly two hours in total. Sturdy shoes are strongly advised as it can be quite muddy.

Olesya P — Google review

Very nice hiking trail taking you on a walk through inclines and declines through wooded and open areas. It's a pay on entry (10 quid per adult) however this covers parking. Only gripe throughout was perhaps the lack of a bin for dog poo bags, would encourage some lazier dog owners to litter or not pick up their pets mess. Apart from that plenty to see and stroll along at your own pace

Robin — Google review

As mentioned in all the previous reviews, this place is amazing and well worth the £10 entry fee. The Waterfalls and overall scenery were definitely worth the visit. What I would like to mention as done previously, is there are a lot of steps involved whether that be going up or down, which if I had read reviews and known beforehand, I wouldn't have taken my dog which suffers from arthritis and other issues with me, just something to consider.I would definitely go again and recommend.

Ash M — Google review

Wow! My second visit, daughters first. We did it in 5hrs 37mins 😂 Guess you could say we took our time (last car in car park nearing sundown) Amazing views, Waterfalls and light rain which created stunning rainbows. I'm glad we did it and she got to experience it. It is a must, at least once if you get the chance!! Love it 😍😊

Libby B — Google review

Walk at your own peril (!) Risky when wet. A great beginner/intermediate 4-5 mile walk with bridges and dips and climbs and narrow paths and waterfalls to catch and a farm to cross through and some lovely views of the Yorkshire dales and farm animals. Bring good footwear, a brolly, light clothing and snacks. Not for very young children unless it's a dry day. Ice cream vans parked towards the end and toilets and camping facilities at end of route. Enjoy.

Zaufishan I — Google review

A great trail, though quite strenuous. Lovely views of the various waterfalls along the way. Well marked trail, in generally good repair. Partly over rocks, partly gravel with lots of steps, the trail rises over 200 metres. It is 8km or 5 miles in length. Refreshments are available in the car park and from a van about halfway round the trail.

Rhys L — Google review

We visited this place after hearing much about it from our friends and the internet. And it didn’t fail us in anyway. The trail is marked very well and the falls were nothing short of magical. The trek could last between three to four hours (which includes the stops you make enroute for photos or eating snacks). The pathway also has trivia facts placed along the way, which makes it even more engaging. Nonetheless, provided there is little to no signal, it’s best to carry some cash to buy the snacks/ice cream that is sold at two checkpoints.

Dakshin K — Google review

Lovely day out despite the weather, although the waterfalls were at their best due to the torrent of rain recently. The trail was nice and easy to follow, very scenic and varied mix of waterfalls. The path itself was quite well maintained, with some area in need of repair from the winter months. Good boots are advised as some parts of the path are more treacherous and obviously wet. We visited out of season, so there was no mid point cafe van open, and the toilets were closed for refurbishment. The positive was a nice and quiet walk with hardly anyone else around, which makes it so much more enjoyable and great for taking photos without the crowds.

Nick J — Google review

What a beautiful hike. Think the price of entry was a bit steep (£25 for two adult and a child). Some amazing photo opportunities..Walking boots/sturdy footwear are a MUST! The paths are very uneven some spots are narrow with fairly big drops so keep a very close eye on little ones.Lots and lots of uneven steps if you and any mobility issues do not attempt. I have a old knee injury and was in agony by the end was not expecting the climb to be so bad going off previous reviews.Took us 3 hours to complete with our 7 year old and dog in tow. The trail ends in the village look out for signs back to the carpark.Overall definitely worth a visit. Such a beautiful and peaceful part of the country..

Steph — Google review

Quite the unexpected adventure.4.5 miles of walking with 6 waterfalls.Starting at the car park with wide load bays, electric charge points available (open till dusk) and hundreds of normal parking spots.£10 entery to start and a free map (no cash payments)Toilets at the start and half way.I went off-season so carpark cafe was closed but the half way one was open.See photos for waterfalls, go and enjoy.

Karl T — Google review

It was a beautiful day.The view was great I enjoyed myself and so did the children,Would highly recommend.make sure to wear comfortable shoes and take extra water on a hot day. Take cash if you want fresh eggs!

Mariam S — Google review

I love Ingleton waterfalls trail. Its changed a bit recently, including the price hike but I suppose it does need to be maintained. It was £10 each for adults. There is a cafe and ice cream van on the trail round, cash only! Its not too tough a walk but there is a lot of steps for older or little knees. Plenty of places to stop despite how popular it is. Dogs must be kept on lead in places due to sheep. Lovely scenic walk.

White Scar Cave is a National Park attraction in Yorkshire that offers visitors an amazing view of waterfalls, rock formations and man-made tunnels. This amazing place is a must-see for anyone visiting the Yorkshire Dales area.

Fantastic day out for adults kids. My son an daughter 8 & 6 loved it.There are some parts of the system where the ceiling is very low. My daughter just about managed to walk through up right. Think the longest part is about 40m. For adults it's not hands and knees but you are bent pretty low. Well worth it though!

Awesome place. Not been since I was a kid. Only 4 of us in the tour group so it was nice and peaceful. Turned up around 45 minutes early and chilled in the shop/cafe. Tour took around 1-2 hours and had plenty of time to ask questions/take photos etc. Really cool and interesting place. You will be crouching down for some of the walk through but all good fun. Staff were very friendly and informative. Plenty of parking and easy to find.

My 11yr old grandson and I visited White Scar caves last week and what a fantastic experience it was, far exceeded my expectations.Easy to get to, plenty of parking and a reasonable price for a fully guided tour. Our guide David was interesting, informative, light-hearted and chatty. He certainly made the visit great fun and an education. The cave is absolutely spectacular, well worth a visit.

Nick S — Google review

Good cave! A lot of tunnels to walk though and a guide. Top experience to walk underground. It does go far into the earth and a few steps and tight squeezes here and there but nothing bad. A lot of parking outside with a shop, cafe, and toilets. Definitely recommend going 👍🏻

Shooting S — Google review

Incredible experience! Our guide Alison was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and welcoming. The walk through the caves takes about 40 minutes to get to the final deep chambers. You do need to crouch quite a bit and there are a fair few steps so need to be able to manage that! But 100% worth it. The caves are amazing, especially the final huge cavern. Tours are every hour from 11 on a weekend. We arrived just before 11 when the ticket window opened and had no problem buying a ticket and going straight down. Well worth a visit if your in the area and currently for Xmas they have a whole Santa's grotto theme through the start with lots of Xmas lights and displays.

Amazing place any weather. Well, not when it’s pouring down with rain as the caves can flood! We went a April time 2023, was a bit wet and windy and quite warm outside, but in the caves it’s lovely and cool. Really good experience if your not too claustrophobic, and don’t mind walking a few meters bent over in the low caves. The talk about the cave system is very fascinating, it’s well worth a visit! Not ideal for people who have any heart conditions, there’s a long set of steps to get to the main and final room. Even I was out of breath!

Chris C — Google review

Definitely the most impressive cave system I've visited. The battle cavern is well worth the effort to get there. Low sections and a flight of 90 steps make it accessible only for the reasonably fit and flexible.

Peter O — Google review

Love the cave and the tour, the tour guide (mike?) was friendly and informative. The cave has so many beautiful features and atmosphere. We ended up having a private tour as we happened to get there at a time no one else was around mid week! Fantastic surprise. They allow you to bring dogs in if they are small and only if you can hold them the whole time as it is not safe for dogs to walk through on their own. The café was also very good and a wonderful view, a lovely little spot. The shop is full of crystal specimens to buy.

Dorothy M — Google review

White scare caves is a fantastic experience like no other, the cave is managed by amazing team of staff that are well versed in the cave’s history. The ticket price for adults is £18 each and the experience lasts about 90 minutes. The pictures don’t do it justice, there’s a cafe on site and a small shop.

Richard M — Google review

We had lunch at the cafe which was lovely. The cafe staff were very friendly. The tour was conducted by Thomas and he did a really good job. My son has homework to be handed in and he's decided to write about the caves. It was throughly enjoyable and I took all 3 of my children and they all enjoyed it.

Catherine P — Google review

Brilliant place to visit. Mike, our guide, clearly the best of the bunch. Still has it even after a week off 💪🏻 the low ceilings aren't an issue, until you forget and stand up too soon. Very interesting, very informative. I'd imagine great for little ones. Ticket office window opens 5 mins before the tours on the hour, clean facilities, wear a coat!!

Rebecca Y — Google review

Great day out with my daughters, well worth a visit and the cave system has to be seen to be appreciated, photos doesn't do it justice, there are stretches of the tour were you have to crouch to get past the low roof so you have to be in reasonable fitness, an experience not to be missed, the guides are incredible with vast knowledge of the cave system.Free car park and onsite toilets for customers visiting the cave or the cafe, impressive gift shop with various rare and semi precious stones and geodes.Definitely a day out not to be missed.

Antonio M — Google review

Had an excellent time. Welcoming staff, informative and friendly tour guide. Amazing sights and experience, the photos do not do it justice. You do have to duck low in some places. In addition it has a large car park, clean toilets, and nice cafe. Well worth a visit

James G — Google review

A fantastic way to spend a few hours. Stunning tour of the caves and very informative. Tour guide was very friendly and professional. Bring sensible shoes, waterproof jacket and no worries about your hairstyle a you'll be wearing a hard hat. Good value for money. Whole tour is 80mins, there's a cafe and gift shop on site too.

Frizzle D — Google review

Photos will never do this place justice! The highlight of our trip to the Yorkshire Dales. Up early to arrive for the first tour of the day. We’d like to thank our wonderful tour guide Tracy for the incredible enthusiasm and energy she brought to the tour which was almost theatrical at points! Her knowledge of the cave complex combined with the staggering views inside really made this a once in a lifetime opportunity. The story of the cave’s discovery along with the miners and the additional 4 miles of tunnels really was incredible.Would highly recommend to anyone who is able to do it. All the staff were incredibly friendly and made the whole experience enjoyable.

Luke M — Google review

Great day out for the family. The cave walk took about an hour, dress up warm! Guide was great and there is lots to see, loads of different formations to see. Couple of places where you have to crouch to get through, one about 20m long. Shop if full of ‘crystals’, kids wanted to buy everything in there….cafe was good with a good choice.

JB M — Google review

Happened to see this place signposted from a local town and decided to Google search it.Immediately planned on a trip there on our homeward drive. The drive over was lovely and scenic. The centre itself was really nice and has a lovely cafe and gift shop (reasonably priced)Tours of the caves are at hourly intervals from 10am onwards i believe.Cost £33 for two adults which proved to be worth every penny. We were given hard hats (optional but very much needed and recommended) and the usual safety briefing by our guide. We had Mark taking us downHe was knowledgeable and polite and showed real enthusiasm about the caves. The caves themselves are spectacular! It's awesome to be able to see geology that is at work all around us so up close and personal. I felt like a kid again.Made use of my new phone to get some really great photos of the walk.. Which took us 90 mins to walk to the final cavern and back.We DEFINITELY plan to be back with our kids to do the Dark Walk (an even more exciting experience we are assured)The whole experience was really really worthwhile and i am really pleased that we stumbled across this fabulous place.Highly highly recommended

Had a fantastic visit. Went on the first tour of the day (10.30) with a nice small group. All the staff I met were lovely and our guide, Tim, was so knowledgeable and full of stories and history of the cave.Wear warm clothes and comfy shoes, it’s cold inside and can be slippy in places. There’s some stairs and some low spots - I was glad for the helmet!

Stephanie W — Google review

What a truly amazing cave!!! Honestly a MUST visit, was a real highlight of our weekend trip away and we all had a spectacular time. We had a really brilliant tour guide named Mark who made our visit fabulous. Would come again if I was in the area for another visit! I am so surprised I had not heard of this cave before, and I think it really deserves all the praise it gets! AWESOME

Karina O — Google review

Me and my family enjoyed this visit. Our guide was so nice. Our son was taken by all the tour had to offer. And it takes a lot to grab his attention!!!Recommend this place for a good couple of hours visit. The food was not great, quite basic but the experience made up for it, and that was what we were there for anyway.

Sally S — Google review

Spur of the moment as we were driving past. Great experience, reasonably priced. Low ceilings in places, so you need to be able to walk doubled up for a few meters at times. Informative tour lasting about 80 mins.

Karen C — Google review

Visited on a Monday, experienced the cafe, shop and the cave tour. Tour fee £18 adults, £13 for children, can also buy a family ticket - well worth the experience.Great tour guide, explained the history of the excavation, the money is being well spent on maintaining the caves. Two parts of the tour require low bending, hard hats all supplied - definitely required. Tours were run every half hour.

Mary L — Google review

Worth a visit if in the area.Note wear water proof shoes especially if it's been raining for a while.Very interesting and different. The tour costs £16.50 for adults and takes about 80 minutes. You are provided a hard hat that is required, you need to bend down to walk through a few tunnels. There are about 80 steps to climb but not all at once..

David M — Google review

One of the best caving experiences we've had in England by far. Not over commercialised as some others are. It's the longest show cave in England too, so a decent 80-minute tour, and you go half a mile inside. Most of the walkway is suspended above a river, which adds to the cave ambience. Some low spots that people with back issues or elder people might find tricky to navigate, also a bit slippery in places so wear good shoes. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back and bringing others too!

R W — Google review

Absolutely amazing experience ❤️ if you're in the area. It is a must. Your tour is guided and takes approx 80 minutes. If you're afraid of small spaces, don't go as you can not get a redund once you have paid

Tracey B — Google review

Stunning natural formation made into a great experience by Mike our tour guide. He was very entertaining and delivered interesting educational information regularly. The views were amazing. 0.5miles into the cave at 120m below the surface!

The Ribblehead Viaduct is a historic railway viaduct in Lancashire, England that spans 400 metres across the River Ribble. Constructed in 1875, it is still in use today as part of the Leeds to Carlisle train line. The viaduct is notable for its 24 stone arch construction and is Grade II listed.

Fantastic views! This was the starting point for us climbing Whernside. Brilliant 8mile loop!Free parking, pub nearby too

Wherever W — Google review

This place is absolutely stunning. A short walk from the road side and you're under the arches. A small bit of research so you know what you're looking at makes all the difference. Great location all around for photo opportunities. Pub on the roadside. A great spot to stop.

It's a fantastic place to visit with lovely scenery. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth taking a stroll. It's very peaceful and an excellent spot for a long walk with your dog. There are ample parking spots along the way, so parking shouldn't be a concern. Additionally, it's a great place for photography enthusiasts to capture plenty of beautiful shots. No matter what day you choose, whether it's sunny or raining, you will enjoy the day. You might be fortunate enough to snap a great photo of a train crossing the viaduct.

T G — Google review

Lovely landmark was absolutely freezing when I went but worth the drive parking is right next to it and there are plenty of other beautiful places to visit in this area

Angela M — Google review

Absolutely stunning place, we did the circular walk up to the highest peak in Yorkshire Whernside at 736 meters. It's a bit of a trek, says its 8 miles but closer to 10. There are smaller walks however if your not a competent walker, especially as the journey down on the opposite side is a challenge as its very steep. The magnificent 24 arch viaduct started in 1870 and opened in August 1875. Is yet another shining example of beautiful Victorian architecture. I can highly recommend this place for hikers and families for a lovely day out. The station Inn is a lovely friendly pub for great food and drinks, and has a large beer garden overlooking the viaduct and mountains. There are plenty of places to sit and have a picnic to.

Del M — Google review

Only in the area for one day, so I did a whistlestop tour to see some essential things. I stopped off to see the viaduct, and I was blown away by how impressive the architecture of it is and in awe at how difficult it must have been to build it.I am very pleased I've visited and seen it, but I want to try and return to do some hiking.

Claire R — Google review

What's a outstanding feature where nature meets mankind. I did the 3 hour ribblehead circle walk, it was approximately 15k and took just under 3 hours. The walks was on on trails apart and cutting through the scenic landscape. Only downside was a small stretch on the side of the busy B647. I would recommend getting there early as parking was a issue. I will visit again in the future and probably get the train.

Russell ( — Google review

We were so excited to see this iconic railway. We were super impressed by the size of it and its charm.

Irina L — Google review

Probably one of the famous viaducts to visit and you won't be disappointed when you do.I'm Always amazed at the engineering capabilities of the past and the viaduct certainly does that, even more amazing is the tunnel further up that heads through to Dent, with the air vents on the hillside, which are worth a visit.

Mathew B — Google review

Just fantastic, absolutely stunning. Really worth the visit, the sunset here is a sight to behold. The echo under the bridge is amazing. The site is well signed with information boards, all very interesting. There is ample parking spaces all the way down the road, and a nice pub close to the viaduct. Very little light pollution in the area so it is brilliant for star gazing. When stood at its base it is difficult to not be in awe of the precise engineering that is now almost 150 years old. Absolutely worth the stop on the way to or from the lakes from N Yorks to avoid A66, and a great overnight stop in a Campervan.

Bee — Google review

I had an incredible experience visiting Ribblehead Viaduct! This historic railway marvel is truly a sight to behold. The sweeping views of the surrounding countryside and the impressive architecture of the viaduct are awe-inspiring. It's a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates the beauty of engineering and nature coming together harmoniously.

Jukejmen U — Google review

Went there for Sunday walk, the morning was very grey and cloudy.Near the viaduct is free parking, but big problems with a public toilets.Otherwise is beautiful nature around, plenty of space where go for a walk.

Marika M — Google review

If you are hiking up Whernside, then seeing this at the start of the hike on a sky blue day puts you in the right mood for the rest of the day. It is a magnificent structure, eye-catching to say the least, and no wonder it is one of Yorkshire's iconic must-see things. To see it on the way back, when the light has changed, just puts the icing on the cake. There is ample parking close to the viaduct, and also a decent pub (Station Inn).

David H — Google review

Always magnificent what ever the weather! Stunning scenery of the famous Three Peaks. The engineering and manpower that it took to create this famous historical viaduct was awe-inspiring. Plenty of parking on the roadside. Ice cream van too. Well worth a visit.

Louise H — Google review

Great place to go for a wander. If you shout and wave at the train drivers they toot their horn at you which was fun for the kids. Tearoom has the absolute minimum very expensive snacks and hot drinks, not doing themselves any favours. Great photo opportunities

Pam S — Google review

What a great piece of engineering! You can walk underneath it and there’s parking on the roadside nearby. There’s also a pub here and some nice walks up the valley to a waterfall. Stick to the path and keep kids/dogs close as there are pros of deep sink holes (aka snake holes) all over this landscape. The viaduct is on the route of the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge so expect to see lots of hikers passing through.

Chris G — Google review

The reviews are all similar for here as its worth the time to stop.A short 10min stroll from the car parking areas across a limestone gravel path/road to the Viaduct base.Possible for prams/less able on the pressed gravel road with a little effort.Impressively tall when at the base of a column. The Inn at the main road is a good refreshment stop.

Mark H — Google review

Impressive Railway viaduct along the Settle to Carlisle line.In the middle of nowhere, several walks are available from this area. If you like wide open spaces and pleasant walking, this is the place to visit.Check out the Ribblehead WebCam, it looks directly to the viaduct and the impressive Whernside, which is the highest of the 3Peaks in that vicinity.

Nigel J — Google review

Fantastic sight, really has to be walked up to to believe how impressive this epic feat of engineering is. Information boards give you some details of the construction and local support required to do it. Can get busy when weather is good and of course when a steamer is scheduled to cross but don't be put off.

Martin C — Google review

A nice little stop whilst out doing other things. Miserable weather but the parking was close by so a quick walk down and back. The sheep were out and close so kept the doggie on the lead! It's a magnificent piece of building so worth seeing.

Philip M — Google review

Possible to say that this place is awesome for so many reasons, the main reason being, it's so accessible, from Mums with prams to those who need help via walking sticks or even wheel chair users , everyone can visit here... its fabulous 👌

Adventure C — Google review

Me and my family came here to see the viaduct. It was very Kool but lots of people. We should have done research before coming as we had no idea of any walks to do around here. I asked a passer by who said it was a circuit to whernside. Me and my family wasn’t prepared to walk those miles on that particular day so we just let the kids play in huge puddles on the other side of the viaduct and explore around it. It was fun for them but the drive of just over an hour didn’t feel worth it for us. If we had prepared better I think we would have got more out of the area with a decent walk.

Mehl — Google review

Gorgeous, stunning and scenic. This was such a monumental construction to go and see. We were blessed with a gorgeous sunny day (despite being VERY windy)! It was such a beautiful drive to get here as well with luscious, picturesque views all around.

Karina O — Google review

Magnificent bit of engineering worth a visit, you can walk under the arches, park the car near by on the side of the road plenty of spaces and it's free pub up the road for refreshments.

Impressive and awesome site. Alas no steam train while there but the station buildings look good.

Specialty Museums

The National Science and Media Museum is a fascinating museum full of interesting exhibits about the history and technology of screens. There are three large IMAX screens where you can watch films, and there are also exhibitions about photography, film and television. The museum is open every day from 10am to 6pm, so it's a great place to visit any time of year.

This is a gigantic museum with a healthy variety of exhibits, most notably the ones about scientific principles. Examples of these are mirrors with different lighting, images that change when looked at from different angles and a screen that displays your body based on temperature. The moving images section is very interesting too, breaking down how pictures were used to create visual art with some nice showcases. On a similar note, there is an area dedicated to television, providing key information and also showing some classic characters! The bottom floor has content about computing and is appropriately made of glass; the displays deliver info such as the origins of keyboards and social media.

Awesome! Fun for all ages. The history of photography, media, the Internet... so much to learn. The kids had fun doing th3 ciphers. The space exhibition was cool. It was interesting to see and feel the materials used for space pants. The interactive section was a nice touch.6 (5) floors of fun.The science show was fun. It was about coding. Jerry brought Ada Lovelace, Alan Turing and Mary Jackson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Katherine Johnson (The Hidden Figures) to life. Everyone was engaged. The rocket test was the perfect ending.Fun day out. All indoors so the bad weather didn't spoil the fun.Definitely worth a visit.Don't forget to book tickets in advance online.

Dimples ( — Google review

Amazing place for a family day out! 6 floors of interesting galleries end exhibitions. To top it off an IMAX 3D experience. We watched "walking with dinosaurs" and it was awesome! Entrance to the museum is free but you need to book a time slots. And IMAX you have to book tickets for before hand as well and pay for them. There's a car park just behind the museum building and we paid £3 for 3 hours.

Agnes B — Google review

Superb day out. Parked nearby for a reasonable cost (Sharpe Street Car Park). Free entry. Really loved the exhibitions all though some were closed and the museum will be closed soon for 13 months! The cafe was nice and staff showed care in all they did. Staff were all pleasant and friendly. The Light Show was also enjoyed by the all the children. This was in the Wonderlab which was my favourite space. The game area is worth it for £2 each but don't expect anything less than 15 years old (minimum) which is fair. There's also an indoor picnic space if you are on a budget and want to bring your own food. We spent 5 or so hours there without seeing an Imax show but did have 2 young children in tow.

J F — Google review

A nice day out for the family, lots to see. The dinosaur 3D experience is great for children. There is an interactive floor for children to learn too including a small mirror maze.

Georgia L — Google review

Pleasantly surprised! Loads of interactive activities for the kids, although a number were broken when we visited. Interesting for all ages with everything from old computers, to 1980's arcade games, to fascinating histories of spying, to old kids TV programmes, to an IMAX (3D) cinema. Also a lovely cafe to recharge your batteries!

O O — Google review

Was extremely over crowded on our last visit. Its quite silly now how it is because although its free u need to make a donation which is fine however u need tickets for different sections. The old style computer games area tickets had all gone and that's £2 per person to enter in there. Not as fun as it used to be. Better for older children rather than under 10s. Some of the sections were closed off.

An amazing place to visit for either couples, families or friends wanting to know the history about Bradford and media from around the world. It’s free and easy to book online. Parking will need to be found a few minutes away near the uni but you should be able to get something for free. There is paid parking nearby. We went on the weekend and it was fairly quiet and plenty of staff presence The premises are immaculate, all items are displayed perfectly and there is lots of different options for everyone. Highly recommend to visit. A great place and really pleased it is in Bradford. There are people who travel miles for this museum and it is on our doorstep! Theres a great 80s gaming facility and it has street fighter pac man etc and it is £2 a session. Staff are friendly, donations are recommended but not mandatory. A fun, informative activity to do! Very nostalgic for those born before 2000’s!

M S — Google review

I love this place, I could spend days there. What was disappointing this time was, there were no new exhibits and the person signing people in was very insistent on visiting the Kodak exhibit. The wonderlab is always fun for those interested in basic science. The video game exhibit was closed.

ぶ千恵子 — Google review

We came on a Saturday afternoon after booking tickets online that morning. You are asked to make a voluntary donation and it is £2 per person for the games room which I cannot recommend highly enough. The museum is on 5 floors and we spent 4 hours in total exploring it. I think we spent about an hour in the games room which is full of old arcade games such as space invaders and pacman plus some old console games. There is a whole floor dedicated to photography with cameras going back 130 years. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and as a free museum it is great.

Derek — Google review

Fantastic place to visit no matter what your age. Each floor has some great exhibits and hands on stuff too. The lower ground floor showing a the photography cameras etc brought back some memories. The media floor showing television of the years was extremely interesting. The wonderlab area will have the kids entertained and so will the upper floor with the gaming area too. I'd definitely return if in the area again. And its free, but we'll worth a donation as they deserve it. I spent 2 hours in the museumThey also advise to book your ticket timeslot online in advance too just in case they may be busy on the day.

Robert B — Google review

Not a bad museum at all. There are quite a few floors to look around but doesn't take long to get around at all. The museum could do with maybe having a few more exhibitions but that may be just my opinion. When we went, the museum was over crowded and extremely noisy due to a school trip. There was only 1 teacher and a very large group of children that weren't supervised and you couldn't hear yourself think and you couldn't go on most of the interactive stuff as they wouldn't let you have a go and I didn't want to be rude and tell them. When you did get to look at things, you felt rushed because the children were constantly near you watching you. We even had the teacher interfere when we couldn't work something out! Quite rude in my opinion. But the place was nice and had very interesting pieces of history about the Internet, cameras, animation, and science. Would recommend but doesn't take long to look around so it's good for about a 2 hour trip.

Tiffany H — Google review

Brilliant day out with the kids. Loved every minute of the national science and media museum. Lots to see, talk about and take in. A lot of 'blast from the past moments'. Really enjoyed seeing the first ever cameras and how they evolved. They had the wonder lab that wasn't too big but had some really awesome stuff. The photo of the water droplet is one of the experiments to try and make the droplet of water make a crown. We managed to do it but missed the pic of it (disappointed child 😆)There was the thermo lab (no explanation, needed there but was brilliant fun) the glowing room was great fun too.Props from all the 'good old' programmes we used to watch as kids, did make us laugh and cry and the same time! 😜They had the retro games room. This was amazing. We paid an extra £2pp (nothing too expensive) for over an hour of fun on the retro games. Arcade machines, Nintendo and Sega as well as PAC man and many other electronic games to have great fun with.In conclusion..... Fantastic day out.

H B — Google review

Very cool indoor activity for kids during these cold days.very well organised museum on different levels (5 stories in total) wash rooms are clean ,,cafeteria is always busy ..wonderlab was fantastic … really had a great time there

It's Free, and to be honest I'd quite happily pay to visit. Well presented and great content. The exhibits really take you down memory lane and there is some good "hand on" exhibits. Both me and the kid could easily spend pretty much all day here.Yes you have to pay for parking but to be fair it's not that much and it's just behind the museum.Really is well worth the visit.
