BROWARD COUNTY
Schools
- Broward County Public Schools and district offices, including all programs and activities (before- and after-school care, field trips and evening classes), were expected to resume Friday, Oct. 11.
- Florida Atlantic University’s Boca Raton, Jupiter and Broward County campuses suspended operations and classes, including online classes, were expected to reopen on Friday.
- Broward College operations and in-person and online classes have been suspended. The college reopens Friday.
- Pine Crest (Preparatory) School’s Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale classes resume on Friday.
County offices
- Broward County Government offices are scheduled to reopen Friday at 6 a.m.
- The Property Appraiser’s Office will reopen Friday.
- The Supervisor of Elections Offices and ballot boxes will reopen Friday under normal business hours.
- All Florida Department of Health in Broward County offices plan to reopen at 8 a.m. Friday.
Courts
- The 17th Judicial Circuit Court was expected to reopen Friday.
Libraries
- All Broward County Library locations are reopening for regular service hours on Friday. (Lauderhill Central Park Library will be closed Saturday due to Jou’vert carnival at Broward Central Park.)
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport
- The airport is open; check with your airline for updated flight status.
Transportation
- Tri-Rail resumed operations on Friday.
- Broward County Transit is fully operational with minor service adjustments. Route 6 northbound has a detour and Routes 9 and 12 have a detour in both directions that will remain until the colleges the routes run through reopen. The Community Shuttle services (operated in partnership with cities) are suspended on Thursday in Coconut Creek, Dania Beach, Davie, Deerfield Beach, Hallandale Beach, Hillsboro Beach, Lauderhill, Lauderdale Lakes, Lighthouse Point, Pembroke Pines and Tamarac. The Hollywood Community Shuttle, previously suspended, resumed service Thursday.
- Paratransit (TOPS) is operating as normal, but may be delayed.
Tolls
- Tolls are suspended through Monday, Oct. 14, along Alligator Alley.
Waterways
- Port Everglades has reopened.
Cooper City
- The city has resumed normal operations.
- City Hall, the Community Center, and Pool and Tennis Center are operating with normal hours.
- All parks and sports complexes will reopen as they are deemed safe Thursday.
- Garbage and recycling collection services remain on a regular schedule.
Dania Beach
- Dania Beach City Hall and all recreational facilities are expected to reopen at 8:30 a.m. Friday.
- City Hall Parking Garage (49 Park Ave. E.) is open to the public for personal-use vehicles through 8 a.m. Friday.
- The pier was expected to reopen at noon Thursday.
Deerfield Beach
- All solid waste, bulk and recycling collections on Thursday are suspended. They will resume Friday.
- The Deerfield Beach Community Shuttle suspended service on Thursday. The routes may also be canceled on Friday, subject to post-storm route assessments.
- The Southeast 15th Avenue bridge is temporarily closed pending a state inspection.
Fort Lauderdale
- City administrative offices will reopen Friday.
- Free parking will be available at the following locations until 5 p.m. Friday: Riverwalk Center Garage (150 SE Second St., levels 6 and 7) and Las Olas Garage (200 Las Olas Circle, levels 3, 4 and 5). All other parking locations will require payment, and enforcement will remain in effect.
- The Water Trolley service was suspended through Thursday; plans are to resume Friday.
- MicroMover service was scheduled to resume at noon Thursday.
- The State of the City Address originally scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 9, has been postponed until Monday, Oct. 14.
- The LauderGo! micro-mover transit service and LauderGo! community shuttle continue to operate.
Lauderhill
- Trash pickup, recycling and bulk collection resumed Thursday.
- Parks will resume normal operating hours on Friday.
Oakland Park
- City offices is scheduled to reopen Friday.
- Sanitation services will resume Thursday.
- City parks are reopening as they are assessed and deemed safe.
Pompano Beach
- Parking will be permitted without charge at the Pier Parking Garage (3460 NE Third St.) until noon Friday.
Sunrise
- All city operations and facilities, including city administrative offices and facilities, parks and pools, the Sunrise Civic Center, Bridges at Springtree Golf Club, Sunrise Tennis Club and Sunrise Senior Center, are expected to reopen Friday.
Tamarac
- The city closed all of its facilities Thursday with normal operations expected to resume on Friday.
- The City Commission meeting on Wednesday has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14.
- The Red Route and Red Extension Route bus services were suspended Thursday. Red Route services will resume on Friday.
Open venues
- YMCA of South Florida’s Hallandale Beach Family Center, and Pines Family Center and Aquatics Center, are closed on Thursday. All remaining Family Centers planned to open at noon Thursday. Aquatics programming at operating YMCA locations are scheduled to resume at 4 p.m. Thursday, weather permitting.
- The Museum of Discovery and Science and the AutoNation IMAX Theater will be open Thursday.
- Bonnet House Museum & Gardens in Fort Lauderdale will reopen Thursday.
- Galleria Fort Lauderdale will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday.
- Bars, lounges and shopping at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood are open.
- Flamingo Gardens in Davie is open.
- Xtreme Action Park in Fort Lauderdale is open until 10 p.m. Thursday.
Closed venues
- The Wharf has postponed its reopening events to Friday, Oct. 18, through Sunday, Oct. 20.
Events
- Two events at the Promenade at Coconut Creek have been rescheduled: Family Night Out originally scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, will now be at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5. And Yappy Hour originally scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, has been changed to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8.
- The Walk to End Alzheimer’s Broward kickoff event scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 10, has been postponed for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at Allegro in Fort Lauderdale.
- El Cuarteto de Nos at Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale will be postponed until the first quarter of 2025.
- The Candidate Forum sponsored by the Friends of Hollywood on Wednesday has been postponed.
- The Teen Mental Health Town Hall Meeting in Coral Springs scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed.
- The For King + Country Live: The Unsung Hero 2024 Tour show at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood originally scheduled for Thursday has been rescheduled to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5.
- The Noches de Neón con Milly Quezada performance originally scheduled for Friday at The Guitar Hotel Pool at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood has been rescheduled for 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29.
- The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival showings of John Lennon’s “Daytime Revolution” on Wednesday and Thursday have been canceled.
- The Taj Farrant performance, originally scheduled for Thursday at Fort Lauderdale’s Broward Center for the Performing Arts, has been postponed.
- The evening with David Sedaris, originally on Thursday at The Parker, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 3.
- El Gran Combo’s performance on Friday at the Broward Center has been rescheduled for Sunday, Dec. 1.
- Broadway’s Rock of Ages Band, originally set to perform on Friday at The Parker, has been rescheduled for Sunday, Dec. 15.
- Broward County’s Parks and Recreation Division’s Public Participation Forum, which was scheduled for Thursday at Plantation Heritage Park, has been canceled.
- Oakland Park’s ribbon-cutting event for Fire Station #9 has been rescheduled to Nov. 1.
- Luis Fonsi at Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12, has been rescheduled to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22.
- Deerfield Beach’s Planning & Zoning Board Meeting scheduled for Thursday has been canceled and rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m.
- Dania After Dark Oktoberfest will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, as planned.
PALM BEACH COUNTY
Schools
- All district-operated schools and offices are closed through Tuesday, Oct 15.
- Florida Atlantic University’s Boca Raton, Jupiter and Broward County campuses will return to normal operations on Friday, Oct. 11.
- Boys & Girls Clubs school sites and stand-alone clubs will be closed Friday and reopen Monday.
- Palm Beach Atlantic University’s West Palm Beach campus was closed until Thursday.
Palm Beach International Airport
- Palm Beach International Airport resumed operations at 1 p.m. Thursday. Passengers are urged to check with their airline for flight changes.
Trash collection
- All Sold Waste Authority facilities, offices and operations resume on Friday.
Piers
- The Juno Beach Pier will remain closed due to expected high surf on Friday.
Bridges
- All county bridges should be fully operational since 6 p.m. Thursday.
Transportation
- All Palm Tran Services, including fixed route bus service, Connection, Go-Glades, BusLink and the Port Saint Lucie Express, are expected to resume normal operations on Friday.
- Tri-Rail is expected to resume operations on Friday.
- Circuit rides in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach are suspended at this time.
County offices
- All services are set to resume Friday, unless conditions change.
- The Palm Beach County Property Appraiser’s Office and five service centers plan to reopen Friday.
Libraries
- The Palm Beach County Library System will remain closed until further notice.
Courts
- Palm Beach County Courthouses were closed Thursday. Courthouses are also closed on Friday in observance of Yom Kippur.
Boynton Beach
- All city facilities will reopen Friday.
Delray Beach
- City offices and parks facilities were scheduled to be closed until 8 a.m. Friday.
- The Visitor Information Center is expected to reopen Saturday, Oct. 12.
- Delray Beach Municipal Golf Course, Lakeview Golf Course, Delray Tennis Center and Delray Swim and Tennis Club will reopen Friday.
- Payment processing for water utility bills will be delayed. Late fees will not be applied.
Lake Park
- All town departments are expected to reopen for their regularly scheduled business hours on Friday.
Lake Worth Beach
- Public offices, facilities and the library were closed through Thursday. The city was expected to resume normal business hours on Friday.
- The Lake Worth Beach Solid Waste and Recycling Division plans to resume Friday.
Riviera Beach
- The Blue Heron Bridge is open.
Meetings
- The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County Governing Board meeting scheduled for Wednesday has been rescheduled. The new date is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the SWA Auditorium (7501 N. Jog Road, West Palm Beach).
