Ingredients for this easy recipe: Cinnamon Apple Pie Dip

  • 1 Bar of cream cheese
  • 1/2 Cup of Apple Pie Filling (I used Dutch Apple)
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 Cup crushed praline pecans and or crushed sugared pecans
  • 1/4 Cup Caramel Sauce (optional)

Directionsfor this easy recipe: Cinnamon Apple Pie Dip

I created two versions of this recipe: a stay-at-home cream cheese ball version and a layered dip version. Depending upon whether you’re hosting or traveling, you can choose the recipe that best fits your needs.

OPTION 1: Cream Cheese Ball

Step 1: Prepare ingredients. I recommend gathering and measuring all your ingredients before you start to make for easier assembly.

Step 2: Mix the Cream Cheese and Apple Pie Filling.I used a food processor to mix the cream cheese and apple pie filling first. You may need to scrape the sides of the food processor half-way through the process to prevent large apple chunks from making it into your mix. Pulse the cream cheese and apple pie filling until completely mixed.

Step 3:Mix the topping.I used a lasagna dish with a piece of parchment paper on top to do this step. Once your parchment paper has been laid in the dish, add 1/2 of your sugar and 1/2 of your cinnamon in the dish. Use a fork to mix. Then layer on 1/2 the crushed pecans and mix in with a fork as well. Mix the rest together in a separate bowl for adding to the cream cheese as needed. The parchment paper is very important as it will help you roll the cream cheese mix into a ball.

Step 4: Create a cream cheese ball.I used a spatula to dump the cream cheese out of the food processor and into the center of the lasagna dish with the topping. Using the parchment paper, roll your cream cheese in the nuts and cinnamon and sugar mix until completely coated. If it’s too soft, place it in the freezer for 1/2 an hour to help it firm up a bit. Once the ball is rolled, you can dump the entire thing upside down on a plate in the center, and use the parchment paper or your hands to gently press the cream cheese cinnamon sugar coated mix into a ball. You can clean off any excess cinnamon sugar mix with dry paper towels. Add some caramel sauce if desired on top of your rolled ball. Caramel sauce is optional.

OPTION 2:Layered Cinnamon Apple Pie Dip

This is virtually the same thing but it’s much easier to create because you’re just layering the ingredients inside a portable container and not trying to shape them into a ball.

Step 1: Prepare ingredients. Again,I recommend gathering and measuring all your ingredients before you start to make for easier assembly.

Step 2: Mix the Cream Cheese and Apple Pie Filling.Same as above. You may need to scrape the sides of the food processor half-way through the process to prevent large apple chunks from making it into your mix. Pulse the cream cheese and apple pie filling until completely mixed. Here’s a fun video to show you how I made this easy Cinnamon Apple Pie Dip.

Step 3:Mix the topping. This time I mixed 1/2 the cinnamon, sugar andcrushed pralines in aseparate measuring cup that I could easily sprinkle into the layered dip.

Step 4: Create the layered dip.Once all of the ingredients are mixed, simply layer them into theRubbermaid TakeAlongs container. I did a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar on the bottom, then I added the cream cheese and apple pie mixture, then I added some caramel sauce, and finally more cinnamon sugar and praline mix on top. Voila – perfect party mix!

Step 5:Decorate with a printable trim. This printable set is designed specifically for theRubbermaidTakeAlongs Deep Square and TakeAlongs Serving Bowl. These containers are perfect for transporting chips and dip to a party. They aremicrowave, freezer, and dishwasher safe.
