Famitsu revealed new data today that goes over the top ten best-selling games in Japan for 2022. We also have a look at hardware sales for the year.
In terms of software, it was a good year for Switch with the console nearly taking up all ten slots. Pokemon had two releases last year, and are naturally at the top of the list. Despite launching at the end of 2022, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet took the #1 slot with over four million copies sold. Splatoon 3 had a great performance of its own with over 3.5 million units sold. Also worth noting is that Kirby and the Forgotten Land nearly hit one million.

As for hardware sales, Switch was again the best-selling console in Japan for 2022. The system ended up selling almost five million units throughout the year.
