This happens to be a commercial one - I dont know why; the landlord bought it. It will not do just 1 or 2 items. I would need this for when I have a very muddy towel from the dog & dont want to put anything else in with it; or with a newly purchased item that I want to wash by itself. It gets stuck on the wash cycle & will not continue. Then I have an item(s) that is soaking wet, which I dont want to put into the dryer. And in the winter, I cant put it outside. I did an online chat about this & was told not to just put one or 2 items in the washer. What??? Im 68 years old; have been doing wash for well over 50 years & have NEVER had this problem. I dont know if this applies to all Maytags since this is the only one Ive ever had, but I would definitely not recommend this product!!!

We purchased our Maytag Elite dryer almost a year ago. Began to have problems with it several weeks ago. We first tried to correct the problem through the store where we purchased it. After three failed service repair visits the technician recommended we call Maytag directly. We did. Another service appointment was set up. The repair guy determined there was nothing wrong with our dryer (?? It wasnt drying on one of the heat settings!!) but said he would come back and replace the front sensors anyway. After he left I called Maytag again. Explained why I was frustrated. I was told that since the repair guy said nothing was wrong with the dryer there was nothing further they could do for me. Further attempts at repair had to be at my expense. I was incredulous to say the least. The dryer doesnt function properly on the normal heat setting, but because the repair guy cant find the cause I am therefore just out of luck?I will never, ever purchase another Maytag product. I am shocked that they will not stand behind a product that is still under warranty. After only 11 months of use I am stuck with a dryer that will only dry on high heat?! How can a single service visit by their repair guy (whom is on their payroll) be the final say? No second opinion? Is he infallible? Simply unbelievable.

I bought my fridge (Maytag French Door Fridge MFF2258VEW) in September 2009. It took forever to get it and when it was delivered, the door was dented so I had to wait for a new door to be replaced. The fridge stopped cooling just before Thanksgiving 2011. I had to throw out a lot of food. It was the circuit board and that was covered under the warranty. I noticed a couple of months later that the freezer was freezing up again and was worried that the fridge would go out again and in February 2012, they came out again and it turned out that the freezer had been put back incorrectly and the freezer gasket didnt fit right and thus, the freezing up on the circuit board. Now it is May 21, 2012, and I came home for lunch to find the fridge not working again! I cant get anyone out to fix it until Wednesday, the 23rd. Now we are in warm weather and I just went to the store and had a full fridge. I still have the warranty and will for another 14 months. I think if this continues to happen and when the warranty is up, we will have to replace this fridge. I can tell you for sure that it will not be another Maytag! What a piece of junk!

I bought a brand new Maytag bottom freezer fridge in May 2005. The first thing to go was the timing switch. I lost all contents of the fridge and freezer. The next to go was the compressor. Again, all the contents of the fridge and freezer were destroyed. This was after the 5 year warranty was complete. The cosat of repairs is around $800.00, which is the cost of a new fridge. I emailed someone from customer service, who replied how happy they are to hear from me, and how I can call anytime. I called customer service, and spoke to a supervisor. The fridge was built in the USA, but cannot tell me where the parts are from. No one seems to get, that I am disgusted that an appliance would last only as long as the warranty lasts. Oh, and the repairs are only covered for 90 days. My parents have a 62 year old RCA chest freezer that is still going strong. The lesson is, dont get rid of your old appliances. They may use a lot of energy, but they last. I will never buy from Maytag, ever again.

Now the control panel is not working. We have to wait for a week for the parts to come in. Total length of time for hand washing dishes since we bought this dish washer is three weeks. They said they are not going to replace it until it cant not be repaired. What does that mean?? Please never ever buy Maytag dishwashers!!!!!

Bought a Maytag MVWX655DW top loader clothes washer from Best Buy on 7-7-2020 it was delivered as promised on Friday 7-10-2020. The people who delivered it were very professional and nice. They did a great job installing it. My wife went to use it for the first time Saturday morning 7-11-2020. Luckily this washer had a see through door. We could not believe our eyes, it never put enough water in the tub to cover the clothes. So as we watched the clothes on top never participated in the wash, they just moved around. When it went to spin cycle it was making a loud clicking sound as it was shaking. So we tried different settings, after 3 loads I called BB and said I want to return it. This machine has been mislabeled, its not a clothes washer, its a noise maker at best. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. IT DOESNT WASH CLOTHES.

I bought a Maytag washer and dryer with Commercial Technology, front loader in April 2012. Since then, the repair guy has been at my house three times in six months. This last repair is going to be just $800 in parts, not including any labor yet. So, I called Customer Service, and told them I was not satisfied with the repair job again, because I obviously have a lemon of a machine. Needless to say, I lost, and was told the warranty is only for repair, and not replacement. Well what happened to customer service? Its more like customer bend over, shut up and take it. So, I will get my repair at a cost of at least 1,200 bucks paid for by Maytag. Im not a business person, but if I were the company, I would think replacement of the unit would be a lot cheaper in the long run for this company and a happy customer for the future of me buying brands. Needless to say, I will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool product again, and you can thank your useless Customer Service department in Canada for that. P.S. I work for a company with over 10,000 employees. I might accidentally send out a little free publicity how this company treats loyal customers. I actually bought this brand because in the past, I was led to believe they were great . Wow, was I wrong!

We first purchased a Maytag Neptune washer and dryer set. We loved them. Had them for 15 years with no problems. When we decided to get a new washer and dryer, we were loyal to the Maytag brand. I was immediately drawn to the Maytag Bravos XL due to the extra large capacity. What a mistake! This washer and dryer pair take more than two hours to complete a single load of laundry. It often takes more than one wash to get clothes clean. If you wash an extra drum large load of laundry, often times there is not enough water and agitation to even get all of the clothes wet. I have a one-year-old boy and a six-year-old boy, their clothes get very dirty. This washer Does not get food off of my one-year-old’s bibs. And my six-year-old’s clothes come out looking as if they haven’t even been washed. What a disappointment! My husband and I are going out today to purchase a new washer and dryer set after having just purchased these Maytags in April last year. What a waste of money! Please include me if a class-action suit it’s taken.

I purchased a Maytag top-load washer 16 months ago. I had a problem with it four months after purchase and they told me it was not leveled, which I did not believe. I set it up as the manual said to. The washer left clothes soaking wet about every 30 loads. I continued to use it and the washer finally quit working after 16 months. The repairman found the nut which holds the pulley on the shaft that turns the drum had been loose and had been this way for some time. $129.00 later, it was fixed. It works fine now. I wonder if this problem should have been caught on the first service call when it was still under warranty.

Similar to dozens of others, we purchased a Maytag dishwasher from Home Depot in March 2011. Recently, it stopped working, dead - no lights, no action. Called Maytag and they referred me to a Maytag Repairman: Coastline Appliance Service of Huntington Beach, CA. The serviceman came out and spent 20 minutes, checked the door switch for continuity, and declared the control panel bad. How do you know its the control panel, I asked. Its my gut feel, based on experience, he said! He charged me $129 for the visit and said a new control panel would cost $380! After reading other posts online, I can only conclude that a new control panel (if that is, indeed, the problem) will also go bad in the next year or two. So, like so many others, were off to buy a new dishwasher - and we will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool appliance again.

I purchased this washer from Lowe’s on 8/9/2017. After 3 years and 2 months, this washer would no longer power up. I tried resetting it by unplugging it and lifting lid 6 times. It didn’t work. The extended warranty from Lowe’s expired on 8/9/20. I called a technician and he found it need a control panel and control board. He suggested that I call Maytag to see if they would give me the parts as a courtesy since the washer was only three years old. I contacted them and experienced long wait times (51 minutes was the longest). I spent a total of 3 hours on the phone with them. They said no there was nothing they could do for me since the manufacturers warranty ended 2 years ago and the “mother control panel” doesn’t fall under 10-year motor warranty. Well, there’s no need for a motor warranty if there’s no power to the unit! The cost of the parts would be almost $600. It is shameful to not stand behind your product. I would expect to have to replace an iron or a juicer after 3 years, but not a washer. This was a major blow to how I would view the way they do business. I purchased the extended warranty from Lowe’s. I will never do that again. It was a waste of money. They didn’t make any concessions for me either. They kept saying it was a manufacturers issue.

This Bravo Top Loading Washer does not thoroughly clean my clothes. It doesn’t fill properly with water, and it leaves soap residue on my clothes, because it’s not using enough water. I’m using the 2 rinse cycle trying to prevent this, and it’s still not enough. It has actually ruined a few of my items. It is the WORST washing machine I’ve ever purchased. I’m disappointed in Maytag for producing such an awful machine and Sears for selling such a sub par product.

Within next 6 months, and just before end of warranty, right front burner stopped working and again Maytag covered it under warranty. Within the second year of ownership, the oven was not working correctly and Maytag refused to cover it because it was off warranty. So I called a local appliance repair company who gave me an estimate of over $300 to repair it and basically advised against repair stating that this stove was a piece of junk. So I replaced it with a GE and junked the old one before it was even two years old. I filed a complaint with Maytag. At first they said they would go half on the labor, but then they said I should have bought the extended warranty and refused all further help.

March 31, 2013 a Maytag front loader washer series 2000 was purchased. In January an error code E4 and F3 kept stopping the washer. Service replaced some minor part, worked for a week. Then service replaced a circuit board - worked fine for a few months. About June of 2014 the codes came up again. This time Service wants 430.00 for a 700.00 dollar washer to fix a continuing issue. So I decided not to spend the money. I could buy another washer, different brand of course, and try and fix it myself. I removed the top and the bottom front covers. The 3 wires going into the circuit board that was replaced were loose, barely plugged in. The catch all at the very bottom right had derbies and coin in it, cleaned that out. Looked at the motherboard with a magnifying glass. It had no bad solders, cracks or burn marks, so I proceeded to run my hands around the entire drum inside... and in the back side where you can’t really see were some more loose wires.... tightened them. Now with the spin rpms you can understand how things shake loose, I always look for the common sense issues.... I am currently on my third wash load. It runs smoother and quieter than it did when it was first installed. Point is the Maytag service sucks and with only a year warranty from the manufacturer. What did I have to lose to try and fix it myself. I am sure this is happening with a lot of other people. The odds of a motherboard or a circuit board going bad in such a short time made no sense. So check all the wiring FIRST. Make sure everything is securely plugged in. I would not recommend anyone buy a Maytag or Whirlpool (owns Maytag) for their reliability or service.

Had a problem with the control circuit board on my 6 year old refrigerator. Had it serviced and found that the problem was common, the main circuit board needed to be replaced. The service person advised me it wasnt currently available from his supplier. I call Maytag and they said it was back ordered from their parts source. When asked for an availability date, I was told the date was unknown? I started a search for the circuit board and found it was indeed a problem for many many other consumers who owned this model refrigerator. Lesson learned: Maytag is no longer a good brand to own.

Tech said the insides are stripped, 300 plus in parts to repair and would be weeks to get parts. I called Maytag and they offered to send their own tech to see which parts and if any of them would be under warranty at a price of 109. I explained that I had an expectation that a washer would last longer than 31 months and spending another 109 dollars would be bad money after good with the 80 dollars for my tech. Maytag said take it or leave it. I am going to Lowes for a GE machine. DO NOT BUY THIS. IT WONT LAST. I will admit, Tina from Tennesse, the Maytag customer complaint person was nice and professional but not actually empowered to do anything to help. I will recommend to my 5 kids never buy Maytag.

A major part was defected and there was nothing they could do! Its very sad when a major company that you purchased from shuts you down with a defected piece in their dryer and they chose not to help out the consumer. Shameful! I can honestly say that my Maytag refrigerator is indeed the worse appliance that I have ever purchased. This is how it rolled... I bought a new Maytag stove, frig, microwave, and dishwasher in June of 2006. Here is what I am now dealing with... the frig went on the fritz 2 years ago (warranty expired). The problem being the freezer would not automatically defrost. Because of this the coils would ice up and this prevented the cold air from moving from the freezer into the frig part. Things remained frozen in the freezer, but everything became warm on the other side, the frig side. I had it repaired about a year and a half ago to the tune of $165. Then about 6 months ago the problem reoccurred, but instead of paying for another repair I figured out that if I used my blow dryer I could defrost the ice from the coils on my own.Unfortunately, the problem reoccurs more frequently now and I have to manually defrost the coils almost every week. This past weekend things finally came to an end as no matter how many times I manually defrosted the coils, it would be fully iced up again with an hour or so. Also, all the time it is acting up it just sucks up electricity, and I have notice a spike upwards on my energy bill. It must be related to the frig. So, I bit the bullet and bought a used frig on craigslist just to hold me over until I have time to do research on what appliance brand is indeed reliable. I should of done this before I bought my Maytag appliances from Home Depot. As far as my other Maytag appliances, here is their current condition. Microwave about the stove: the handle broke off a little less than 2 years after purchase. Stove: now has rust on the front of stove, at the bottom of the stove which is a pull out drawer.Dishwasher: not working at all. The start button doesnt work. Normally, you just push the button and a green light comes on and it begins the first cycle. This is no longer happening and no green light comes on. Refrigerator: Took it to the dumps this morning to be recycled. Cant believe it, all of these appliances are nothing but crap and I will never purchase another Maytag. I have shared my experiences with all my family and friends and have encouraged them to avoid Maytag, as it is not even close to being the product it used to be. Another piece of junk coming from somewhere other than here in the USA. We lose jobs here in the US, and then end up buying the goods from another country that makes inferior products. This past week when I had the microwave running, the beep went off indicating the popcorn was done but when I opened the door the microwave was STILL running! I thought it was a fluke but it happened again. Tonight the open/close door error once again appeared on the display. Having already had this repaired to the tune of over $150, not to mention the danger of a microwave running when the door is open, I called a mayday on the Maytag! I decided enough is enough and went out and purchased a new microwave... Obviously NOT a Maytag. The dangerous inoperable Maytag microwave is in the garage waiting for trash pickup.

I bought into the Maytag name, am so very angry that I did. Started a load at 1215 pm today... it is still sensing, washing, rinsing, spinning and then it starts all over again. Just unplugged from the power source, hopefully I can get the clothes spun out enough to dry!! Call and live chats to Maytag were frustrating to say the least. $400 plus Maytag service call to check out the machine not fix check out repairing would be extra. (I do not live in rural area, live 5 minutes from downtown Jacksonville FL!!!) Independent Repairmen will not touch this Maytag Model (cannot say I blame them!!). DO NOT PURCHASE A MAYTAG PRODUCT. Bought this (Maytag Washer MVWB955FC1) on 1/8/18, was delivered late in January as it was on back-order. On 4/30/18, during a cycle, the washer made a pop sound. There was glass everywhere. The glass had shattered and exploded onto the floor and washer. The glass is on the inside of the drum and all over the clothes. Contacted Maytag and they sent out a repairman the next day. Repair said there is a point of impact indicated I dropped something on it. NOTHING was dropped on it. There is a point of impact, from the inside. The glass is pushed up and out indicating pressure from INSIDE the washer.Repairman says its not covered under warranty and that I had to pay for his time as well. He also said there are no known issues with this lid and washer. The lid is out of stock and wont be available for a while. I called Maytag and they gave me the same response, never heard of this.. and lid is out of stock. I found SEVERAL reviews/complaints in which, for the exact same model, this has happened to other people. This glass lid is dangerous and poses a serious safety risk to households that contain it. If they replace the lid, there is no guarantee this will not happen again. A child could walk by the washer and at any moment the glass lid could explode, send tiny shards of glass everywhere. I want a refund for this dangerous washer.

My daughter purchased this washer and matching dryer as a set from Lowes about 4 years ago. It was one of the few with an agitator and that is what she wanted. After using the washer for the first time she was very disappointed to find that the shortest cycle took over an hour and that the locking lid feature couldnt be bypassed. A few weeks ago the washer began gushing water onto the floor which flooded the basem*nt below. She had purchased an extended warranty which was due to expire the following week.She called Lowes and scheduled a repairman. He finally came 2 weeks later and used the Internet to help him diagnose the problem!!! We could have done that. He decided that the control panel was only allowing the agitator to turn in one direction during the wash cycle. So essentially it was spinning a tub full of clothes and water causing lots of water to overflow the tub onto the floor. Needless-to-say he had to order a part and cant return for over 2 weeks to install it. IF this is even the problem! He also said he couldnt disable the locking lid feature! If my daughter had been able to open the lid when the problem started she would have known more about it.We are thankful her machine was under warranty but she will have been without a machine for almost 2 months when and if it is fixed. This is completely unsatisfactory for a gently used 4 year old washer. The dryer takes forever to dry also. If you are buying Maytag based on how long your grandmothers machine lasted, you will be disappointed! This washer caused so much damage we had to file a homeowners insurance claim!

I purchased the Maytag oven in January and have had the service technician out 5 times to try to repair the oven because it doesnt heat properly. Theyve told me that because I live in a condominium that it is normal for the oven to take an hour to preheat, then another hour for the second oven to preheat. When I am baking the oven does not hold the temperature and anything I bake takes much longer than it should. They refuse to get me a new oven.

I liked the 10 year metal warranty plate attached to the front limited warranty of the microwave. This means nothing! They cover the stainless cavity of the microwave (a part that will never go bad). June 3, 2014 this microwave was delivered. Thanksgiving, the microwave went out November 30, 2015 this was replaced with GE Profile Model JVM3160RFSS for $178. November 30, 2015, Diamond Factory Service was here for the Microwave. We paid $90 for the service call. They wanted $228.09 to repair (1-8206419 Switch $15.22; 1 W10269460 Switch $27.03; 1 W10727360 Microswitch $27.03 and Labor $155.00). Maytag Dishwasher MDB7749AWM. Purchased from Al race Appliance for $599.95 total with tag etc was $920.27 on 5/16/12. So thankful was purchased the additional warranty for five years. We have had 2 service calls so far for the same issue, which is W10356494 Console CMFF0312434. This is a known problem (it will not start). I wish I would have googled the model before purchase was made. When the warranty expires, this will go to the curb too.Also, purchased Maytag Neptune Washer and Dryer from Best Maytag, Rockford. The dryer had problems with the circuit board after a short time. Too expensive to replace. Our family and friends ALWAYS purchased Maytag only. No more! Stay away! We are waiting for the oven to go next. Oh and check out the bottom drawer. There use to be room for pots and pans. No more. Lucky to get your pot holders in there.

I wouldn’t own angry other than a Maytag dishwasher. They last forever. The commercial about calling a Maytag service man is true! I’ve never had to call fior service! Well worth the money!

Is ALWAYS off balance whenever you wash anything of weight (i.e.: towels, sheets, blankets etc.). It takes me close to 2 hrs to get these items washed because I have to keep starting and stopping it to try to get it to spin dry because it ALWAYS throws the items so is off bal. and wont spin. Then when you hit pause, adj. bal., & start it again, it starts REWASHING the items (instead of continuing on from where you left off), and sometimes when it cant balance in the spinning cycle it just shuts down making you think the full cycle is complete, only to open up the lid to find your clothes all sopping wet. Also, NONE of the cycles will get any of my clothes clean...it just uses so little water your clothes come out feeling grungy and still dirty. I have had to resort to ONLY using the BULKY cycle because it is the ONLY cycle that will use a higher water level (mainly because bulky items like towels will absorb the water so it needs to add more). With this cycle at least my clothes dont FEEL dirty when they are done washing!There is no way of knowing how much time is left on any of the cycles, which is a real problem when you have to start and stop it, because you really have no idea how far back it goes to start itself up all over again. There is just no way to time it, because it keeps messing up where you have to keep stopping/starting it, and then you have no idea of time frame. Never saw a machine built so UNUSER friendly!I will NEVER buy a MAYTAG washer again, and NEVER will I buy a washer unless it HAS the center agitator, and a control for water level. These HE washers are the worst, and unfortunately they are now the only washers being made, but without water, clothes just DO NOT ever get clean anymore no matter which fancy and expensive detergent you use. HE washers are HORRIFIC. I may just buy an old style used washer with the agitator... at least I wont be wasting energy to only wind up with STILL dirty clothes when using HE washers! The stove top is impossible to select and keep the heat consistent. When adjusting the heat up or down when you slightly move the dial it overreacts. When moved the heat sways may more than selected. The fridge works well but the bottom drawer is way too flimsy and it wont last a long time as it will crack. This is our first purchase of Maytag appliances and it will be our last. I simply grabbed the wrong screws which were too long for the door switch, one screw went through into the open/close switch and contacted voltage, thus causing a direct short to the chassis and me. It also damaged my control board (the most expensive one in the industry), now Im out an extra $220 because Whirlpool made an engineering error. A screw should not be located so close (millimeters) to a voltage source where a simple mindless mistake could cause electrocution and possibly death. As for the washers operation, the drain pump failed after just two years, it sometimes leaks water out the front because debris gets into the boot drain back holes. It smells like mildew even though we leave the door open, my clothes stink, Affresh is costly and really doesnt help much. It does a decent job of cleaning, not as good as the old top loaders but it saves water. I think next tax return time this machine goes up for sale and we get a better machine.

Bought a new home in July of 2016 and the builder had included a Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer. They are THE WORST performing appliances I have ever used! I will replace as soon as I have the means to do so. DO NOT PURCHASE the Maytag Bravos XL appliances. The engineers that designed them should be fired! The washing machine makes an incredibly loud noise (like an old starter grinding in a 50s car). Im told that this is normal for the machine. Does NOT clean well and leaves soap spots on dark clothes... leaves them on light clothes but I cannot see them. Whites come out dingy even with bleach. The tub is so deep that I have to use tongs to get out smaller items, I am 53 tall and have never had this issue before. Soap dispenser drawer wont stay closed during wash cycle. Clothes are so badly tangled during the wash cycle that it is hard to describe the wrinkled mess that has to go into the dryer.Dryer issues: Very loud. Very wobbly and unstable, and yes, it has been leveled 3 times. Bed linens have to be separated at least 3 times during the drying cycles because they twist and wad up into big, wet knots of cloth. Infuriating!!! Dry time is very long unless you wish to cook your clothes. So disappointed in this product. Total rubbish!!

We inherited this Maytag (Model MGR7662WW) when we bought our house this year. I love this unit. It cooks accurately, its easy to clean and its just rock solid in its performance. I never worry that the cook times are going to be off either. The oven racks are solid and the overall look is nice. Our friends and family love the center grill as much as we do. If I need to pull something off the burner I dont worry that Ill scratch the stove top with this feature. The oven heat is also pretty contained. Our old oven radiated lots of heat through the top. This one doesnt and thats a huge plus. The only reason Im not giving it 5 stars is that the grills are cracking (not the center one). However, I have no way of knowing if the original buyer damaged them or if its a defect in materials. They still work fine but I will need to replace them at some point. Given the cost of replacing them Ill wait as long as I can.

I have this installed on 2nd floor with a drain and a drain pan The drain pump got a hole in it and leaked water all the way down to the basem*nt, over $6,000 in damage. The drain pan and drain didnt work because the Maytag has a noise barrier on the bottom and when that was soaked with water, it sealed off the drain pipe. Also, when I contacted repair at Brubakers, they replaced the drain pump but then informed me that it wasnt covered because penny got in there and that is neglect. $332 later, I was told that the extended warranty covered everything and also no one will take responsibility for installing the washer so that the drain pipe could be blocked. I will never purchase a Maytag again or anything from Brubaker Appliances.

The tub bottom is very hard to reach because it is too deep even for a man with a long reach. The tub itself is about 16” deep but never fills more than 4” of water on the high water setting. Why such a deep wide tub when you can only put 4” of water? Cleaning is poor, the machine is very noisy, very. The worst machines we have ever purchased with ridiculous sensors, bells and whistles. The dryer takes forever to dry clothes and again the sensors are a joke. The high efficiency of the units means you work much longer for clothes that are wrinkled, spotted, less clean looking and sometimes damaged. Where is the savings? And don’t say hydro and water as the washer cleaner cost, wipes that out and more. We gave our 26 year old machines to Habitat, neither machine was ever serviced and were in perfect condition, they were Maytag. They have destroyed their name. So sorry we decided to modernize our laundry room.

Took the back panel off and noticed ice around the copper tubes by the compressor going up into the body. Not good. Put a small brick heater in and slowly melted the ice into the drip tray. Warning, it filled up 4 cups of water and of course spilled and killed the wood floor. After the clean up. Plugged the unit in and it seemed to work for about 3 months. Now its dead again. Looked into parts around 300 to 400 bucks plus labor to replace the system needed parts. P.S. the fridge, this junk replaced is downstairs working after 25 years not one issue other than the color. Easy to check for yourself... looks like brown crap on the cable...if you have a meter, you can easily check it. Tried to repair it, very difficult, but I tried. NEWS?...I wrote a complaint to the Better Business B... and mentioned that this is a safety issue, which it is.Believe it or not, just received a call from the corporate office (Whirlpool) and they were interested...I actually got their attention. This washer does not clean clothes - they come out with soap & spots & white stuff, even after I use the deep water or the extra rinse cycles. These cycles take well over an hour. When they are finally finished, my clothes are twisted into ropes that have to be unwound & taken apart before putting in the dryer. I hate to think what its doing to more delicate clothing, getting stretched & tied up like that. This washer is awful - cant wait to get a new one. The dryer isnt much better - cant believe a $900 dryer doesnt have a steam refresh cycle! And the controls are so touchy - if you actually push them, they dont work. If you lightly hover over the button & barely breathe on it, it does - very strange.

I purchased this set 2/15/2014 and have never been more disappointed with a product! The washer is top loading high efficiency and there is NO water level for different sizes of loads. If I add two small items or a load of towels the water level is the same and the larger loads do not get clean, I can only run very small loads of clothes and sometimes even those do not get cleaned. I have seen soap on some items because there was not enough water to rinse it all out - and I measure the soap very carefully. Additionally, when using bleach for whites it stays in the washer even after running a second rinse with the tub empty to clean it out. I have ruined a lot of items due to bleach stains. And shortly after getting the washer something came loose and it rattles every time it spins making it very noisy. I am seriously considering selling this set with a huge loss and purchasing another washer so that I will not ruin anymore clothes and to be sure my clothes get cleaned. I have had the set for 8 months and will never recommend this product to anyone.The dryer has its issue as well. It shuts off before the clothes are dry every time I try to dry a load and sometimes 5 minutes or less after I start it. I have to use the timer all the time because the auto settings shut off while the clothes are wet. Additionally, I have to run most loads for 2-3 cycles to get the clothes dry. My reliable old dryer of almost 20 years dried my clothes perfectly with the auto time settings and was a far superior dryer than this one.

I built a new home in November of 2013 and filled my house with all brand new top of the line Maytag appliances. Almost a year and a half in, my $2500 refrigerator is broken and all my food is lost. They send a repair man out; and guess what, the warranty is expired. So they wanted me to pay $800+ to have my refrigerator repaired a year and a half after I purchased it. I cant believe they have no shame in sending out products with their name on it that only last 1 1/2 years! I would never treat anyone like they treat their customers. They hold no responsibility. Their name holds no value to me anymore. I was extremely disappointed.

Centennial commercial tech. washer - We purchased this piece of junk in Sept 2013, and had to have a repairman twice before it was six weeks in my home. I wrote several letters but the only thing that I received were applications for insurance to cover repairs. I should have received a replacement as it was bad from day one, but Maytag doesnt replace!!! Its been semi-reliable for the past several months, until early this year. It started jerking when it changed cycles, sounding as if the drum was hitting really hard against the sides. It has continued to do that regularly; now it wont function on the cycle its set on. It wont spin, sometimes the lid lock wont work. It starts filling when it should be draining. This evening, it stayed in the rinse cycle for 40 minutes and when I realized it was still rinsing I had to unplug it to get it stopped. It goes on and on, (and so could I out of frustration). The good name of Maytag has turned to trash, and when it leaves my home, no more Maytags!!! PS. The dryer we got with it takes at least 1 1/2 full cycles to dry a load, and since I couldnt get it to spin properly, Ill be lucky to get this last load dry in 2 to 2 1/2 cycles.

My stemware had a film on it and I either had to wash it by hand or rinse it in hot water and dry by hand. Thus I felt like how could my other dishes not have this film on them even though I faithfully used Finish. I have 2 daughters who live within a half mile of me and they did not have this trouble with their dishwashers. I always felt Maytag was a top brand, but I replaced my 3 year old Maytag with a Whirlpool that my daughter and her family of 4 used for 19 years. Guess what... my glasses come out sparkling without using Finish and they wash in half the time and are dry!

The repair tech just told us the bearing was bad and we need to replace this and the drum. The service call was $100 and the repair will be over $500. I can purchase a new washer for this. I strongly recommend not buying any Maytag product. The brand used to stand for quality but not now. I dont think the Maytag repair is still the lonely tech they used to be.

The first load of dark clothes I washed came out with soap streaks all over them. This happened every time I washed dark clothes and sometimes they were barely wet. I emailed Maytag but they didn’t reply, so I called customer service and was told I should always use warm water and when washing dark clothes select a deep water wash. How is this HE?? When I wash towels or sheets everything comes out tangled and I am only putting in one set of queen size sheets. I will never buy another Maytag.

I purchased high end Maytag washer, dryer, dishwasher and microwave in May 2010. On Saturday 4/25/14, the Maytag Microwave stopped heating. The fan runs, the panel, display, lights, clock, and tray all work. It just doesnt cook. The Microwave was installed in June of 2010. Not even 4 years old. I have tried to troubleshoot via the instructions that came with the microwave, i.e. Check the demo mode is not on. Dont know why after 3 yrs it would be, but checked it. No help. Pulled the plug out and replaced; turned breaker on and off; checked to see if its was locked. Nothing. I then checked the door and I found that the plastic inside panel on the latching side of the door is pulling away from the door itself, which is part of the locking system. The magnetron shouldnt work if the door system isnt closing properly. The latch system is what is causing the door to pull apart. I am wondering now how much microwave exposure my family has been getting from a malfunctioning door? I have had a Microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator made by Maytag in the past. The refrigerator is 14 yrs old and still works fine. The microwave and dishwasher were at least 10 yrs old when I replaced them with the new Maytags I have now. Here is the problem. Maytag is not Maytag Corp. anymore. Whirlpool Corp now owns the Maytag brand. Prior to the old Maytags I had, I had GE fridge which was junk, and Whirlpool, dishwasher, stove and microwave. They were also junk. I swore I would never buy Whirlpool products again. Surprise.

We have a Maytag dishwasher that came with the house we purchased in 2012. Im not sure of the exact age but the former owner said it was a relatively new installation. The appliance works very well; cleans well. Just a couple of things of concern. First, it is really noisy. The fact that we can very clearly hear it running in the adjacent room does not speak well for it in this regard. The other things that has occurred is that rusting is evident on the trays of the dishwasher. One of the upright pieces has already broken off due to rust and two others are close to coming apart very soon. Nothing sharp is placed in those areas that are coming apart so there would be nothing remarkable to disturb the plastic coating on the wire racks. I can only conclude that the plastic coating was defective at the start; hence the rusting at the base of the upright pointing racks. That said, it does clean well but I dont foresee this unit lasting much longer overall due to the rack damage that is continuing to occur. I would expect the racks to at least last as long as the dishwasher but this does not seem very likely at the rate the racks are deteriorating.

We looked online and instantly found it was a problem among many others, and said it was a result of corroded ribbon cable. We opened the panel and, sure enough, inside the ribbon cable the electrical wires were completely rusted through! We called Maytag, and, of course, despite the numerous complaints of the same problem, they would only fix it if we paid $250, or send us a replacement part for $350 to fix ourselves. Not going to spend that much on a dishwasher that already cost $600 and only lasted 22 months! We are attaching a picture that shows after we tried cleaning the rust (when Maytag refused to fix it) how much of the electrical wires disintegrated! We tried soldering a small wire to connect it again, but the ribbon was so thin it just melted right through.

How sad! Buyer beware! If you buy a new appliance, research the warranty provider. It appears that Maytag has laid off the Maytag repairman and went to a lost cost unskilled service provider! A&E repairman has no idea how to fix the oven. He replaced the part. 4 weeks later, came out and walked in the house and did not even look at anything and ordered the same part again. He told us he would be back the following Friday. He did not schedule an appointment. I called on Thursday before he was due to show on Friday and A&E told me I had no appointment scheduled. They told me to inspect the parts that were shipped. I told them I would not even know what I was looking at! They told me the repairman would be back out between 1-5PM on Friday. No one showed. At 2PM, I called and A&E said the repairman must be on his way because he did not call and say he wasnt coming. But again, he did not show! I made no less than 6 calls to A&E and Maytag after that! A&E would not escalate the situation to a supervisor and on call number 6, when I finally got to an advocate, they told me to call Maytag! I have taken 4 days off as vacation to be home for the repairs and this last day was the final straw. When I researched escalating paths for both companies on Google, the first thing that came up was whole pages dedicated to complaints for both companies!

Discovered that thousands of others are having problems with the control panel on their dishwasher. Mine is Model # MDB7749SBM2. Looks as if I should just junk this horrible product and buy a new one (another brand, of course). My biggest concern is that I purchased other Maytag products along with this dishwasher, ie, a refrigerator-freezer, a built-in stove top/oven and a microwave. I have had a service call on the fridge (water line), the oven (gas) will indicate a set temperature (400 degrees for example) sometimes it will only be abt 200 degrees via a portable thermometer... Sometimes it doesnt ignite at all (have to reset it 3 or 4 times, the microwave has issues with the digital readouts, and on and on and on.I have only had these appliances about two years (after warranty expired) when each unit started exhibiting problems. I paid $175 for the fridge repair and am now considering biting the bullet & replacing everything as MAYTAG/WHIRLPOOL apparently isnt going to take responsibility for any defect on ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS! Im 75 years of age, retired and cannot afford the replacement route but it looks like I dont have a choice unless someone has a better suggestion. I dont have the skills or energy to attempt the repairs myself.

At the time of purchase, we opted to buy the 5 year extended warranty for $125.00 (just in case). Here we are at seven months after that warranty is no longer any good and the freezer leaks all over the floor and we have to keep a towel at the bottom to soak it up.This morning I wake up to the panel being completely out and fridge is not running at all!!! We thought when we purchased our Maytag that we were buying the best of the best... not even close! We just paid for an expensive piece of junk! Who has the extra money just lying around to go buy a new fridge? Not us! This is unacceptable!!! I have read other reviews that sound pretty much exact to our experience with this refrigerator. Our 26 month old Maytag fridge (Model MFF2258VEM8) was the french door freezer on bottom modern style fridge. The freezer stopped working. The repair shop took the fridge away and repaired a leak (quality control issue) and then the compressor failed in a test. They wanted $700 to make a repair that would have a 90 day warranty about 1/2 the cost of the fridge. Maytag was contacted at multiple levels and they would not even provide a free compressor or provide a substantial discount on a new fridge. What a way to treat a customer who once had all major Maytag appliances in our home. We decided to get a GE Profile fridge and are very happy with it. I will never buy another Maytag appliance. I dont think it is the great company it once was years ago.

Reading through some on-line reviews and complaints it turns out that this is not a new problem and has been known to Maytag for some time. I specifically bought a Maytag because of their prior reputation for quality. Unfortunately, my information was out of date. It is so sad that a company would compromise such an outstanding reputation.

I wanted to buy a top of the line machine and this is what the sales person recommended to me. Problems started soon after purchase. Initially I contacted Maytag because the machine wouldnt spin dry a cotton bath mat weighing 4.5lbs soaking wet. I was told I should put more items in the machine to help balance it. Well there WERE more items and the machine wouldnt spin dry them either. I tried every trouble shooting Maytag suggested. Having exhausted my nerves, I called for service. The technician came and said these machines are extremely sensitive and that sometimes they wont even run an empty cycle. He said this is a common complaint with these units. One of his suggestions was to take bath mats, duvets, comforters... articles like that to a laundromat.I did less than 10 wash cycles after his visit when the washer started having more issues and finally broke down completely. The technician who came this time wrote a repair order indicating a mechanical (Stator) AND electrical (Control Panel) breakdown ($500+ for the parts alone if the unit wasnt under warranty). He also stated that he had never seen such problems in a brand new machine.I contacted Maytag for an exchange. Maytag customer service wrote to me that the breakdowns are ... normal, with all the units we sell some may have a defect in the first couple of months... and refused to exchange my defective unit. I can accept that there may be a defect that will warrant a repair, but in this case there are multiple defects in separate systems - mechanical and electrical - within the first month of service. This shouldnt warrant any further discussion, only a quick replacement and an apology.

Purchased a Maytag side by side MSB27C2XAM00 in June 2014 to replace a 20 year old Kenmore. After 14 months the fridge stopped keeping things cold in the food compartment and in the freezer. And, the water and ice dispensers stopped working. Called Maytag and they confirmed the fridge was 2 months past the warranty and the best they could do was offer an extended one-year warranty for $325 and set up an appointment. I declined and called a local repair company. They responded promptly and discovered the problem was a bad board. Had to replace the board at a cost of $475 (parts and labor). It was $150 more than the extended warranty but I was already in the hole for $100 service call and I was able to get the fridge repaired on the spot. I had the Kenmore for 20+ years without one repair. Maytag was good for one year and 2 months. Dont know how this company will last with a $2000 product that lasts a year. I can not recommend this product and advise anyone in the market for any appliance to avoid Maytag products.Updated on 11/20/2015: After the board was replaced, the fridge worked but was not keeping either of the side by side compartments cold. They were cool but not cold. Repairman returned. Said it was the compressor which needed to be repaired/replaced. Maytag said the compressor was under a 10 year warranty unlike the other parts of the fridge. Good news, Maytag covered the cost of the part / but bad news that it broke after 14 months of use. However, the service people told me the cost of the compressor was the smallest part of the repair. Labor and service would be costly and Id be better off getting a new fridge with a 5 year warranty contact. After I got over the initial shock of having to toss a 14 month old fridge that cost $1500 and complaining to Maytag, I went to Lowes and found a replacement fridge. This time it was not a Maytag. Moral of the story stay away from Maytag. Dont be fooled by the brand. Avoid them at all costs. And purchase a fridge with a 5yr+ warranty contact!

13 months after purchasing my Maytag dishwasher, it started operating by itself. I woke up one morning around 2:00 to it working, and I know I didnt put it on! I only use the auto clean cycle (that decides how dirty the dishes are, and is the cycle you use to conserve water). I dont use heat dry at all. Anyway, now I go to use the dishwasher and even though I press the auto clean button, the normal/heat dry/delay start buttons flash on. I try canceling this cycle out; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. I dont see Maytag as reliable anymore.

Bravo Series Washer and Dryer. I hate, hate, hate this washer and dryer. I have had it for 2 years and hate it more every day. What makes is worse is the over $2,000 spent to buy this piece of crap technology. The engineer should be fired and sham on Maytag for selling such a piece of crap. Washer does not get clothes clean and I have pictures to prove the amount of dirt and lint and soap left on clothes and bedding. Very poor design, and worse yet absolutely horrible engineering.To wash one item on delicate takes 47 minutes. No way around it and you are limited to the water temperature you want to use and the spin cycle that you want for that item. Water level is too low no matter what setting you use. I have read and reread and gone step by step according to instructions with no success of clothes coming out clean. Clothes are also twisted and knotted and wrinkled like no other machine I have used in over 50 years. The washer is very limited in what it allows you to do. Bedding cycle is a joke that does not work at all. One of the reasons I bought this was so that I would no longer have to take the time to drive to a laundromat. I washed a comforter and so much soap and lint and dirt was left on the comforter. I still had to take it to the laundromat to get it clean.Dryer is just as bad. Even with the energy saver off it still takes 1 hour and 20 minutes to dry 4 towels that are 5 years old. I cant imagine how long it would take to dry brand new fluffy towels. It was engineered to sense when ONE piece of clothing is dry. I want ALL my clothes dry, not one piece and the machine shut off. How stupid is that??? Engineers - design it so it senses when clothes are still damp and the machine keeps running!!! I can only use the time dry setting because no other setting even comes close to getting the clothes dry.To top off the hatred of this machine some damn engineer apparently thought this was a car and needed to be aerodynamic with a curved lid on both washer and dryer so you cannot put anything on top of the machine!!! Not every house is 5,000 square feet with plenty of room and storage!!! They want to force you to buy the drawers to put underneath and then the washer becomes too tall for short people to reach down into to get the clothes out. There is not one positive thing I can say about the washer and on top of it I will never purchase another item from the store I bought this set from. I have had service come out time and time again and they say it is an installation problem. Installation says it is service and yet no one will admit it is just a very poorly designed machine. Do not buy this brand or series of washer and dryers. This series deserves a minus and the company should replace every set sold!!!

We have had seals replaced, fixed, etc. twice. The freezer is full of ice balls hanging. The refrigerator doesnt keep as cold as it should and stays steamed on glass. I had a repairman again today and was told that he cant fix it. The frame will not stay tight. Theres a 3/8 in. drop from left side to right. It cant seal properly. You have always been a great product. Whats happening here? What can you do for me; Im at wits end. I have an older refrigerator in the basem*nt thats 26 years old and is still going strong. My husband and I purchased the Bravos XL washer and dryer set about a year ago as our first big washer/dryer purchase for our new home. We spent about $1200 on the set from Home Depot. I very much regret this purchase as the washer never gets our clothing clean! The washer never puts enough water in the basin and the clothing comes out with strange white smudges EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.I have tried changing detergent, I have tried skipping fabric softener, Ive tried rinsing out the dispenser thinking it was residue from old soap. I dont know what it is, but what I DO know is that the clothes go in without the white smudges and come back out with them for every load. I have to run a second rinse cycle just to get it off, which means Im washing for at least an hour and a half. I DESPISE this machine and its costing me more on my water bill.Additionally, the dryer isnt much better. It constantly shuts itself off even when its not on energy saver mode, with the little red light going on for air flow. Ive checked the connection and dont see what the issue is. If I have a big load such as blankets in there, I have to dry them all individually for almost an hour just to dry my bedding! It simply wont stay on to dry a full load. I very much regret my purchase and wish Id gone with something simpler and cheaper as it would have done a much better job with my laundry. Lesson learned. Dont waste your money on Maytag.

We had this washer 16 months. We bought it new from Home Depot. The clothes came out with spots on them, white residue and grease spots. This was ongoing for awhile. The bearings went out after 6 months. It was so loud now the water pump went out. I was told by Whirlpool (they bought out Maytag) that water pump is on back order and could take a couple of months!! To fix the bearings and the water pump was almost 700.00. A new washer is 1000.00. We junked it and had to buy a new washer GE. We are sick about this waste of money!!! What a piece of JUNK this Maytag Bravos XL is!! We need to have a class action suit and try to get something back. This is ridiculous and they arent taking responsibility. Whirlpool/Maytag are rip offs!!!!

I have purchased my top loader Bravos washing machine 3 1/2 years ago and I have had nothing but troubles with my machine. I have had to replace the motherboard twice and I constantly have that foul smell in all our clothes. I have to wash each load twice and still the smell doesnt come out. I have also complained numerous times about the water level not being correct, but they keep saying that is how the high efficiency machine is. I can watch my load washing because we have the clear lid which I like. But at the same time, it gets me really angry seeing how this doesnt clean clothes like it should. I dont believe that the water levels are right at all. I have clothes that dont even get turned over as they are washing and I have even smaller loads than before. I can only clean 4 adult pairs of jeans at one time and I still think that is too much. I clean my machine every time the red light turns on with the Affresh tablets and sometimes I run a clean cycle with just bleach. Maytag has done nothing to try and correct these problems. Its so sad that I have to take my clothes to the laundry mat to go wash them and there I have absolutely no problems. They have the HE front loaders and they have enough water to wash my clothes and I can actually see them being washed. I will never buy a Maytag washer or dryer again. How sad you have all these complaints and no one to help you fix or correct them the right way.
