There’s a long list of competitors to choose from, but we’ve compiled the top ten fighters from around the world. These players have dominated the competition, picked up the most prize money, and have the highest level of in-game skill. While Tekken is far from being the most prolific esports title in the industry, there is a vibrant scene packed with top-tier talent.
10. Marquis “Shadow 20z” Jordan
Marquis “Shadow 20z” Jordan is an emerging talent in the Tekken scene. The American joined the scene in 2016 but due to health problems he was unable to compete for a few years. As a result most of his notable success did not appear until 2019. He has since begun to gain more recognition as he continues to place well in and win many of the biggest North American tournaments.
In 2019, he was the #2 ranked player in the United States of America and the best Claudio player in the world, with Zafina as his 2nd main character. His most notable tournament victories were EVO 2021 online and Summer Jam 2021.
9. Arja “Sephiblack” Gamoori
Arja “Sephiblack” Gamoori is a German Tekken player currently representing BIG. The European first entered the scene in 2017, but has only begun to compete with the very best Tekken players and achieve good results over the last three years. He has had a very successful start to 2022, with his most notable result being a first place finish in The Vidya Invitational.
He is mostly known for maining Miguel when in competition.
8. Joseph “Joey Fury” Bennett
Joseph “Joey Fury” Bennett is an American Tekken player who entered the scene in 2016. He won his first Tekken tournament at the age of 12 and has since went on to become one of the best players in the world, regularly winning North American Tournaments and has competed globally with a 2nd place finish at the Red Bull Golden Letters event in London earlier this year.
He is known to play a variety of characters, including Jack-7, Paul Phoenix, Gigas, and more recently Marduk. However Jack-7 has stayed his main character most of the time.
7. Genki “Gen” Kumisaka
Gen is one of the best Japanese Tekken players in the world. He was first noticed by fans in the International Tekken Community at Evolution 2014. He amazed everyone watching by finishing 2nd in the Tekken Tag Tournament 2 competition, at the age of 14. After this he moved onto Tekken 7, where he qualified for The King of Iron Fist Tournament in 2015 and 2016. However after this, he decided to dedicate most of his time to education instead of practicing and attending tournaments.
In 2019 he returned to the esport and was announced as Team Liquid’s first ever Tekken player. He was released from the org a few months later, but soon after his departure he signed with Donuts USG, who he is still representing today. Gen has been known to use a multitude of different characters, but is most known for choosing Fahkumram.
6. Jae-Min “Knee” Bae
As a result of his numerous major tournament wins and consistency over 2 decades of Tekken tournaments, Jae-Min “Knee” Bae is considered by many to definitely be one of the best Tekken players of all time, with over $150k in Tekken earnings throughout his career. He is currently representing the Korean organisation, DRX.
Despite the fact that he started competing in 2004, the South-Korean is still able to contend with the very best players around the world, which he proved by winning his third EVO championship in dominating fashion with Feng in August 2022. Despite struggling to perform to his normal standard in 2021, with this result we can safely say Knee is back to his best, which is incredible considering that he is 37 years old.
Although he is most known for his Bryan, throughout his career he has shown proficiency over a plenitude of characters, being known for his mastery of the game as a whole rather than being a specialist.
5. Moon “Binchang” Changbin
Moon “Binchang” Changbin is a competitive Tekken player from South Korea who resides in the United States and is currently representing Nfinite. He plays several characters including Heihachi, Leroy, and Claudio among others. He started competing in 2017 but had little success until the end of 2020, where his run of form started.
Since the end of 2020, Binchang has been able to consistently perform well in every tournament he participates in. The Korean-American has rarely finished outside of the top 6 and has won multiple events, most notably the Tekken Online Challenge 2021: NA Regional Finals at the beginning of 2022. This ability to consistently perform at the top level has shown Binchang can be one of the best Tekken players in the world.

4. Hasan “JoKa” R.
Hasan “JoKa” R. is a Tekken player from the United Kingdom who represents RIZE Gaming. He mains Heihachi with Kazuya as secondary.
Starting his career in 2019, JoKa quickly grew in recognition and went on to dominate Europe at the end of 2021. In 2022 the Brit achieved numerous good results at international events, including second place in The Vidya Invitational, third in Community Effort Orlando 2022, and second in VSFightingX. This shows how JoKa is able to consistently perform at the top level internationally, and why he is considered to be one of the best Tekken players in the world.
3. Vincent “Super Akouma” Homan
Vincent “Super Akouma” Homan is a French Tekken player currently playing for CRaZY Esport. Despite common misconceptions, he did not name himself after the character Akuma, despite that being his main.
Since he began competing in 2017, 2021 has been the Frenchman’s most dominant year, with a multitude of first place finishes (and other good results) in Europe. This form carried over into 2022 where he dominated Europe again, and has also placed well in international tournaments such as a recent third place finish in VSFightingX. With his consistent top performance over the last few years, Super Akouma is ranked #1 in Europe.
2. Hoa “Anakin” Luu
Anakin is one of the best Tekken players of all time. The North American has won numerous championships during his career across the entire franchise, with one of his first major tournament wins being the 2010 MLG Pro Circuit Dallas Finals for Tekken 6. He is also a two-time EVO Top-8 Finalist for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Tekken 7.
Anakin is one of the top two players in his region with Jack-7 as a main character. He is currently representing UYU, and in 2018 Anakin gained sponsorship from energy drink manufacturer Red Bull.
Over the last few years, Anakin has won several major tournaments in North America, further making a case for him being the best Tekken player in the world.
